343 industries’ Lead Multiplayer Designer Andrew Witts joined the company in 2019. Since then, he has led the team with courage, different strategies, a great love for Halo, and, above all, as a respectful superior. Andrew Witts also watched over the reveal of Bethesda/E3 Halo Infinite not only as a creator but as a Halo megafan. During his time as the Lead Multiplayer Designer, Tom French directed the Halo Infinite multiplayer. But heartbreakingly, Andrew Witts has decided to depart from 343 Industries, saying that he’s excited for what’s to come next.
Today was my last day at 343 Industries. It’s been an honor leading the MP design team over these years. Thank you to all @Halo fans for your feedback over the years. We made this game for you.
Going to take some time off to relax and recharge but I’m excited what’s next! pic.twitter.com/3uXaKIP28g

Following his departure from Microsoft’s Redmond-based 343 industries, Andrew Witts said that it was an “honor” leading the multiplayer team. The response from the people was heartwarming, albeit mixed with some critics. One user on Twitter said, “Thanks god they’re firing leads as they’re ruining this game,” while replying to Andrew’s tweet announcing his departure from the company. On that note, Andrew Clarified mentioned that he was indeed not “fired” and decided to leave the company on his own decision.
Thanks god they’re firing leads as they’re ruining this game, devs only follow directions from them. 343 needs new and successful leads to fix this game.

Last year, the Halo franchise was setting up the stage with the Halo Infinite multiplayer for the next-gen Halo game. Halo Infinite multiplayer is a free-to-play game and has accumulated more than 20 million players to date, with more players pouring in. The remarks left by Andrew Witts, the former 343 Industries’ Lead Multiplayer Designer, and the success of Halo Infinite are clearly tipping us off about the future of the game and what to expect from it. There have been no clarifications from 343 industries about who is going to be the next Lead Multiplayer Designer.
A departure of a key person is not a new thing in the Halo franchise. But the question remains about who can be the next Lead Multiplayer Designer for 343 Industries. What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
