GTA 6 Will Release In 2025 According To Reputed Industry Insider

The insider has previously predicted the postponement of Forspoken as well as Hogwarts Legacy, among others.

The recent Rockstar hack shook the very industry to its very core and has started various debates on the ethicality of leaks and the multiple ramifications they have on not only the companies but also the individuals that are working on the leaked projects.

Rockstar Games is now reportedly looking for an Investigation Analyst to improve its surveillance and security measures to make sure that this does not happen again.

Usually, this would mean delays, but Rockstar Games said that development would continue at the same pace, without offering any concrete release date. A reputed industry insider has claimed that the game will release in 2025.

Major Takeaways:

  • An industry insider says that GTA 6 will release in 2025.
  • The claim somewhat lines up with predictions by analysts.

Following such a colossal leak, it would not be wrong for people to expect that a game would be significantly delayed as management has to halt several work pipelines in order to investigate and cull the ‘negative’ elements within.

Rockstar Games however stated that it was unaffected by the hack, although it was disappointed.

Rockstar also stated that it did not currently anticipate any long-term effect on the development of ongoing projects.

Now, credible industry insider Adrien Perea stated that the game is “set to release in 2025.”

This does not fall far from the predictions of many regarding when the game would release. Previously, as Bloomberg reported, industry experts anticipated that the next GTA game would be out sometime in Take-Two’s 2024 fiscal year, which runs from April 2023 through March 2024.

Considering how dynamic and erratic game development can be, it’s no surprise that a game would get delayed. Couple that with the after-effects of the recent hack, and any sane individual would say that the release date of 2025 is to be expected.

The fact that support for GTA Online is expected to end soon would also contribute to it. With GTA 6 would probably also arrive the new online component, as has been the case with previous entries.

GTA IV launched with an online component, and so did GTA V, the online component of V being highly successful and still played by many despite being almost 9 years old.

This is because devs have to plan and develop as well as test components beforehand so that the launched product can be playable, especially more so with online games. As can be guessed, the development of GTA 6 is probably very complicated.

As such, even if the original release date was expected to be in 2024 at the latest, then a delay till 2025 isn’t as silly a notion as it would seem.

It should also be noted that Adrien Perea is well-reputed and has quite a lot of achievements under their belt. They correctly stated the release date of Uncharted PC before the official announcement.

They also correctly stated that an Iranian actress called Shohreh Aghdashloo would be a voice actress in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, along with the delay of Hogwarts Legacy.

While there is still no official confirmation from Rockstar’s side, we can probably expect to hear more news in The Game Awards this year, or maybe any event next year if not this year.

Considering the fact that Rockstar is now doubling down on its security, we should no longer expect any leaks of any kind from the already notoriously overprotective and secretive developer.

As the game leaked in a very early stage, it has led to misunderstanding by the general consumers that the game is even mildly not impressive, leading to various issues for Rockstar.

The game was in a very early stage so it is no wonder it looked so, even though it was somewhat impressive for the trained eye and those in the know. However, it sparked massive uproar in the community as many are not privy to the details of how game development works.

Rockstar has continued to impress with each outing in the Grand Theft Auto series, and will hopefully continue to do so with GTA 6 as well.
