Story Highlights
- Astro Bot is an upcoming platformer, releasing exclusively for the PlayStation 5 next week.
- One of the game’s leaked achievements has given away a detail regarding the game’s sequels.
- The file size of the action-adventure has also come out into the open.
Team Asobi’s Astro Bot is one of the most sought-after games we’ve been looking forward to, especially after its ravishing reveal at State of Play this year. And If you’ve been wondering about how much storage it’s going to occupy on your PlayStation 5, that has been confirmed as well. As per an X user kind enough to put the information out there, Astro Bot will take up about 37 GB on the console.
It bears mentioning that Astro’s Playroom, the tech demo that comes pre-installed on the PS5, is about 11 GB in size, so comparing that to this, you can expect there’s going to be a lot more meat in the sequel. Nothing but fantastic news, that. Nicely optimized exclusives that eat up a significant portion of your storage will never not be a good thing.
Is An Astro Bot Sequel In The Works Already?
It’s less than likely that Team Asobi has already begun work on an Astro Bot sequel as of this moment, considering the game also has 7 days left to go until its release date. However, the prospect seems definitely possible, now that Exophase has shared a list of Astro’s unlockable trophies, with one of them giving away a key detail.
The description of the “Astro-nomical” Platinum trophy clearly pulls players in for a surprise, but this could also mean nothing for now. That said, provided the inevitable success of the upcoming title, and the franchise as a whole subsequently, another Astro game does not sound too much off the table, not at all.
In other news, Team Asobi has already confirmed that Astro Bot will get free post-launch DLC, and that the game will feature well over 70 cameos of characters from different franchises, including Resident Evil, The Last of Us, Stray, Yakuza, God of War, and even Tekken.
