- Bluepoint confirmed that its next project is original content, not a remake.
A recent video of PlayStation Studios Malaysia has sparked intense speculation among gamers. The short video was shared by Gobind Singh Deo, the Minister of Digital Malaysia on LinkedIn, which shows the studio’s cutting-edge technology but the background art in the video was of intriguing significance.
The artwork in question shows a desert fantasy setting which might be linked with Bluepoint Games’ rumored new IP. Twitter user @LumberjackRy shared the concept art of Bluepoint’s new IP in December of last year which was part of a major leak. Strikingly, the current leak and the one shared by Rythian are set in a fancy desert area. This adds a significant weight to the rumors.

The Pieces Of The Jigsaw Are Now Coming Together
In April 2021, it was reported that Bluepoint Games is working on an unannounced PlayStation 5 game, thanks to a LinkedIn listing giving the details away. This was followed up soon after in September when Bluepoint confirmed to IGN in an interview that its next project will be a new IP, and not a remaster or remake.
Then came December 2022, and Bluepoint let out this slight tease via a post on the official PlayStation Blog, hinting that it’s, indeed, cooking something up.
But wait, there’s more. during the notorious Insomniac hack late last year, Bluepoint Games suffered collateral damage, with hacker group Rhysidia leaking concept art for what appeared to be an “unannounced fantasy adventure title” from Bluepoint. The artwork revealed a floating in-game world with beautiful visuals, characters, birds, and lush green trees in a supposedly creative desert area, similar to the image leaked today.
It is vital to know that Bluepoint Games was acquired as a first-party developer for PlayStation Studios in September 2021, having already gained traction for working on the remakes of Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus. Until now, the Texas-based developer has also worked on multiple PC ports of popular games, including Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and The Last of Us Part I.
