The PlayStation 5 Pro is a buzzing topic these days, with Sony plotting to push out the refreshed console in November next month. Up until now, a range of developers have chimed in to talk about their games getting “PS5 Pro Enhanced,” and now, it appears Insomniac Games has joined the chat as well. Taking to X, the developer announced two of its most high-tier titles getting revamped from the ground up for Sony’s new console.
Today, we deployed updates for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that add new visual options for PlayStation 5 Pro, including Performance Pro and Fidelity Pro modes!,” tweets Insomniac Games.
A more detailed post on the subject expands on the visual upgrades Spider-Man 2 fans are about to get treated to when the console comes out. There’s the Performance Pro, a default for the system, which lets players bask in that 60 FPS goodness, all the while ray tracing features are toggled on. This is something that the regular PS5 struggles to maintain on a consistent level.
Other graphical toggles include:
- RT Key Light Shadows : Off (Performance) / On (Fidelity default)
- RT Reflections & Interiors : Medium (Performance) / High (Fidelity default)
- RT Ambient Occlusion : Off (Performance) / Medium / High (Fidelity default)
The same features and improvements follow suit for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, except for the first graphical toggle.
Spider-Man 2 Fans Have Had Some Bad News In Recent Times
A little over a week ago, Insomniac confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 won’t be getting any story DLC, laying waste to all expectations that players had built up since long. The notorious Insomniac leak last year pretty much confirmed that multiple DLCs were or were going to be in development for the title, but it seems the developer decided to go the other way in the aftermath of the hack.
Now, rumor has it that Insomniac might be knee-deep into the development of a dedicated Venom game, but of course, as with every rumor, take this information with a grain of salt.
The PlayStation 5 Pro comes out on November 7, 2024, with pre-orders for the console currently underway.
