Usually, Chromebooks are not that high-end when it comes to hardware, these are cheaper devices usually aimed at students or media consumers that do not need all that power that a regular laptop has to offer. All that changed when the Google Pixelbook was announced last year. Now word has it that there will be a new Google Pixelbook coming out this year.
What can you expect from the upcoming 2018 Google Pixelbook? You can expect to see better hardware with Intel 8th generation chips. The 2017 models might not be a fan favorite but the Google Pixelbook is the most powerful Chromebook on the market with configurations up to an Intel Core i7 and 16 GB of RAM with 512 GB SSD. That is impressive even for a Windows laptop.
Moving to 2018, not only will the upcoming refresh come with better hardware but you can also expect it to be thinner and lighter as well. You can expect the bezels to smaller as well, which is a common trend for laptops in 2018. This information has been revealed by leaker Evan Bliss, so you should take this with a grain of salt as it has not been confirmed by Google.
16 GB of RAM is plenty, even for a Windows device, so I would not be surprised if the upcoming device also comes with 16 GB of RAM. Other than that, we could get a better display, with a higher resolution and more pixels. When the upcoming device is released, the current one with get a price but and it will become even better value for money.
We have seen the price of the Pixelbook fall by $250 during sales, you can expect to pick one up for even less when the new devices come out. That is something worth looking out for. The 2018 Google Pixelbook does seem like a decent device, but as of right now, these are rumors and speculations. We are still waiting for more news regarding the matter so stay tuned for more information regarding the upcoming 2018 Google Pixelbook.
It will be interesting to see how well the 2018 Google Pixelbook, and how it is different from the one that we currently have on the market.
