Nintendo 3DS was released in 2011 as a successor to the Nintendo DS. Nintendo 3DS sold about 75.94 million units before it was discontinued in 2020, a few years after the release of the Nintendo Switch. The 3DS supported backward compatibility for Nintendo DS games, alongside many exclusives of its own. The hand-held console also supported many titles from popular franchises such as Mario, Pokemon, and The Legend of Zelda.
