MAJOR TAKEAWAYS
- Minecraft and Burberry have announced a giveaway of 50 Xbox Series S special edition units for the UK and Canada(excluding Quebec).
- The giveaway is part of a bigger collaboration deal that already saw the release of DLC for Minecraft.
- The Xbox units will be themed after the Nova Check pattern, with a pixelated design identical to Minecraft.
- The giveaways will end on the 21st of November.
The units will be patterned after Burberry’s most renowned design, the Nova check, with a pixelated print that is identical to Minecraft. To participate in the giveaways, the players have to sign into Burberry’s website by the 21st of November. The players will also receive exclusive Burberry-themed in-game items as well.
This comes after Burberry announced a broad collaborative deal with Minecraft. The deal is part of Burberry’s latest expansion into the gaming sphere under Burberry: Freedom to Go Beyond, which saw a new DLC of the same name being introduced in Minecraft.
The DLC included Burberry-styled clothing for Minecraft characters. From scarves, shirts, and hats to pants, hoodies, and coats, it had all varieties of apparel made by the British luxury brand. But that was not all, they introduced a new alternate reality, called Nexus.
On their adventure in Nexus, the player had to encounter a Burberry-themed character, Equestrian Knight, a maze called Thomas Burberry Monogram, and Burberry-styled animals.
Minecraft’s description of the DLC read as follows,
The new, free DLC, Burberry: Freedom to Go Beyond, reflects Burberry and Minecraft’s appreciation of the wonder of nature. As the player, you venture into an alternate reality version of London taken over by a malevolent entity called the Nexus.
Once a place blooming with foliage and gentle animals, this land has been drained of color and life. Its inhabitants have been scattered to the four realms of air, water, fire, and earth, and your quest is to restore the spirit of the wild by traveling to each realm, reviving its Nature Guardian, and freeing the animals trapped there.”
Burberry, established in 1856, is an English luxury brand known worldwide for its “ready-to-wear” clothing. Its trench coats made from leather are its most famous product. It also has cosmetics and fragrances that are sold through Coty and its eyewear is licensed for sale through Luxottica.
The eligibility requirements for the giveaway do not include the purchase history of either of the brands. The prize draw will end at 10 am GMT. The residents of the Canadian province of Quebec are excluded from the draw.
