New 2K Game to Be Revealed Later This Month

During an earnings call with Parent Company Take-Two on Monday, the publisher confirmed that the new mystery IP will be shown later this month, and will release during their current fiscal year ending on March 31, 2022.

Take-Two President Karl Statoff announced “Later this month, 2K will unveil details of another exciting new franchise planned for launch during this fiscal year,” It is highly likely that this new secret IP, which is reportedly going to be a proper franchise, will be announced at Gamescom at the end of this month.
Following this announcement, it was also revealed that two of 2K’s unannounced “Immersive Core” titles have been delayed to later this fiscal year to work on polishing these titles. It is possible that one of these delayed titles is the new Bioshock game that 2K talked about way back in 2019, it is not yet known what the second title but we know that 2 of the 4 “Immersive Core” titles 2K was publishing are from notable franchises according to 2K CEO Strauss Zelnick.

It is not yet known which of 2K’s development team is working on this new mystery franchise. 2K is the owner of highly acclaimed studios such as Firaxis and even Rockstar Games as well as the studio behind the critically acclaimed Mafia Definitive Edition, Hangar 13, which was a ground-up remake of the first Mafia game which came out way back in August 2002. It was considerably praised for its engaging storytelling, enjoyable combat, and a visually stunning recreation of an alternate Chicago during the Prohibition era, while also criticized for its lackluster open world and lack of extra content besides the main story.

More details about this Mystery franchise are to be followed later this month, hopefully during Gamescom at the end of this month, starting from August 25th and ending on August 29th.
