- The sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man will feature on-the-fly switching between Peter and Miles in missions, similar to Grand Theft Auto 5.
- The Lizard enters the hunt as Kraven makes his way to New York. This hunt will take players to Queens, an improvement from the prequel in 2018.
Insomniac Games has finally revealed the main star of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the symbiote, and this is shaping up to be a huge adventure. Our first look at gameplay that takes us over to Queens, shows us some of the most ambitious takes on Spider-Man combat since the days of Web of Shadows on the PlayStation 3.
The last PlayStation showcase was held in 2021 and graced the world with several high-profile announcements. Insomniac Games revealed two projects that fans have been asking for, Marvel’s Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. While the former is still in development, the sequel to 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man took the players by storm as it was running in CGI graphics which was later confirmed to be in-engine visuals and not cinematics.
As if that wasn’t enough, it revealed several new elements of Insomniac’s universe, introducing us to Kraven the Hunter and Venom. Things have been quiet for the most part since then until today. We’ve finally gotten a proper look at what’s in store for the wall-crawling duo in the sequel to the greatest Spider-Man game of all time. And it definitely looks like Insomniac Games pulled out all the stops.
Featuring on-the-fly switching between Peter and Miles, missions are looking to be on all ends of the spectrum with fantastic stealth sections and set pieces that get the adrenaline flowing. Peter Parker has also obtained the iconic Symbiote Suit and it’s clear that he’s being influenced by it. Dialogue between the two characters foreshadows a deadly confrontation between Master and Student.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 in Fall 2023.
