- Ubisoft has a large slate of releases in 2024.
Ubisoft will release a “large game” sometime between January and March of next year, but company executives made no mention of what the title is. Ubisoft executives made the announcement during the company’s quarterly earnings call.
The FY24 line-up includes Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence, another large game as well as Just Dance® 24 edition, Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, Skull and Bones, The Crew Motorfest and XDefiant.”
When asked if the game was Star Wars Outlaws, which is set to release in 2024, execs said, “Don’t assume anything“. Company representatives also said that they have a strong marketing plan in place for the game. With ~8 months to go until the beginning of next year, we would expect marketing for this game to have begun already.
This mystery title could likely be Star Wars Outlaws, however, its studio, Massive Entertainment will also release the upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game in December 2023. It is unheard of nowadays for a single studio to release different AAA titles back to back, but this could be an exception.
Ubisoft has a massive release slate in its fiscal year 2024 (ending April 2024), which includes Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Xdefiant, Skull & Bones, Just Dance 24, Rainbow Six Mobile, The Crew: Motorfest, Assassins Creed Mirage, The Division: Resurgence, Prince of Persia: The Last Crown, and likely Star Wars Outlaws. some of these games will release in calendar year 2023, others are smaller titles, leaving a handful left.
Some users on Twitter have speculated that this could be the Splinter Cell remake, but that game is in very early development. Aspyr and Saber Interactive also reportedly planned to release the Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic remake in 2024 before a development shakeup, so perhaps Ubisoft wanted to have an early 2024 Star Wars release window to themselves.
