RoboCop: Rogue City’s New Live Action Trailer Out Now

The trailer has fans asking for a new RoboCop movie.

Story Highlights

  • RoboCop: Rogue City is an all-new first-person shooter, scheduled for official release tomorrow.
  • The game is based on the actual RoboCop films, with Peter Weller reprising his role as the protagonist.
  • A new live action trailer for RoboCop is now out just ahead of the game’s launch.

The RoboCop movies, especially the first one, are some of the best sci-fi thrillers out there, but taking a look at RoboCop: Rogue City’s new live action trailer, fans want more where that came from. Developed by Teyon under the publishing control of Nacon, the new RoboCop game is all set to arrive tomorrow, featuring life in the mechanical boots of the cyborg at hand, with subsequent first-person-shooter gameplay.

The trailer showcases amusing sequences of RoboCop shutting down odd crimes, such as a man peeing in public, and others littering on the street. At the end of the footage, more clips of Rogue City’s gameplay are shown off, with a glimpse of the title’s in-game story. For those not in the know, the title’s premise revolves around RoboCop protecting Detroit—a city where now crime runs rampant and the law grows weak.

It bears mentioning that 2003 was the last time we saw a RoboCop game make landfall for consoles—about two decades ago. There has been no development on this front ever since, with only a rebooted movie coming out in 2014. For RoboCop: Rogue City, though, what’s interesting is that the original film actor Peter Weller has voiced the protagonist, thereby giving players and fans, or at least trying to, an authentic RoboCop experience.

On a side note, the devs released a story trailer for Rogue City about 5 days ago, insinuating what to expect from the upcoming first-person shooter. Evidently, the game is set between the movies RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, and similar to the lore, the cyborg hero is joined by his partner Anne Lewis in safeguarding the city.

RoboCop: Rogue City is coming out on November 2, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games. Those who bought the Alex Murphy edition of the title on PC benefitted from a 48-hour early access period. Rogue City was first teased in 2021, with its first-ever gameplay trailer shown off in the next year.
