State Of Decay 2 Refuses To Die; Players Have Massacred 1.9 Billion Zombies In 2023 Alone

Developer Undead Labs has revealed the annual stats for State of Decay 2 according to which players have massacred a massive number of 1.9 billion zombies in 2023 alone. Additionally, the developer shared intriguing data on the recently introduced ‘curveballs,’ noting that only 2.4% could beat the challenging Black Heart curveball. These stats highlight the game’s enduring popularity, even five years post-launch.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post, Undead Labs disclosed some interesting community stats for the State of Decay 2 in 2023. Notably, players have taken down a staggering 1.9 billion zombies and 30 million juggs during this this year alone. Other interesting revelations include the most popular vehicle among players; the Red Talon Pilato CR, and the most equipped cosmetic was the Swine and Bovine Apron.

Moreover, State of Decay 2 was given the year’s biggest content update in September. The update introduced “curveballs” to the game for players who found the gameplay repetitive. Within the community stats, there are some interesting numbers regarding these curveballs as well. Radio Silence was the most completed curveball and Under The Weather was the least finished one. Only 2.4% of players could conquer the Black Heart.

Other intriguing stats reveal that 27,486 Communities survived for over 100 days and 8,845 Communities survived for over 100 days in the Lethal which is one of the game’s hardest zones. The most popular map in 2023 was Providence Ridge. Players completed 744,814 Legacies and the most popular Legacy arc among players was Warlord. Lastly, survivors destroyed a whopping 27,043,018 Plague Hearts this year.

State of Decay 2 is a zombie survival game developed by Undead Labs which was acquired by Microsoft, soon after the game’s launch in May 2018. The game is available on Xbox One and also on Xbox Game Pass. Undead Labs has recently brought in a new developer Wushu Studios for assistance with State of Decay 2 while the former is busy with developing the third installment in the shooter series which is likely to release in 2027.
