LittleBigPlanet Hub was an anticipated live-service entry in the franchise back that never got an official release. While it was not formally canceled, the project vanished for years to come after 2013. However, now it has made a formal appearance; the YouTuber LittleBigRussia has uploaded the first known gameplay of the game online. That is not all; the YouTuber confirmed in a short that the build itself was alive and could be downloaded.
Now, Sumo Digital has officially archived the internal beta build of LittleBigPlanet Hub on the famous Archive.org site. The build, dated December 10, 2013, was provided by the Russian LBP Community. Players can now download and try the project for the first time without any potential malware risks. You can even play it on your original PlayStation 3, as many have claimed that it is working flawlessly in the site comments.

It is unclear why LittleBigPlanet Hub was shelved indefinitely in the first place since the devs have not revealed a reason. The entry was ambitious; it was free to play and would have focused on user-generated gameplay with free and exclusive content, including assets from the first two games in the franchise. Regardless, the title has been attributed to be the building block of LittleBigPlanet 3, which came out later in 2014.

To add more salt to the wounds, the game studio Media Molecule was recently struck with a lay-off that fired about 15 to 20% of its total staff. So, the future of the franchise is currently unknown. The studio is working on a new project after dropping support for PlayStation Dreams, but it is unclear if it falls under the LittleBigPlanet franchise.
