Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Is Off To A Mesmerizing Start As Over 100,000 Players Clock In

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is getting super nice treatment at the moment, as the fighter title welcomes more than 100,000 users on Steam on its launch day. I mean, a player count of this stature was pretty much expected right off the bat, primarily because of all the hype the title had garnered prior to release and still continues to do so. 

That is to say, the Dragon Ball: Sparking! franchise — otherwise more commonly known as Dragon Ball: Budokai Tenkaichi, has introduced a new game after 17 long years, and that’s saying a lot. Bandai pretty much picked up the series and brought it back to life, and I’m stoked that it did because Sparking! Zero is pretty much everything that a Budokai Tenkaichi 3 fan can ever want.

Many Players Paid A $100/€100 For Sparking! Zero

It bears mentioning that so many people bought into the early access hype of Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, effectively paying a $100 for the game. That’s because the Deluxe Edition of the fighter title costs that much, and comes with a number of enticing benefits, including numerous DLC packs, a Season Pass, and, of course, a 3-day early access to the title. 

If anything else, this goes on to prove that people are willing to pay more for quality games. 

Truly unbelievable they brought back the BT series after 17 years and had a bigger roster with a ton more story mode content in it. It is literally the only videogame I have seen where I could say “yeah that might justify a 70 dollar base price,” says one HootNHollering on Steam.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero was released on October 11, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, launching to great critical acclaim. It was also able to secure an 82 Metascore rating so far on Metacritic.
