Story Highlights
- No Man’s Sky is an open-world action-adventure survival-based title that came out about 8 years ago.
- The game is also among those who have received a PS5 Pro upgrade, boasting a fresh coat of paint.
- Some highlights include 8K support at 30 FPS, an upgrade to PSVR2, and a lot more.
From the looks of it, it doesn’t take much to tell that Hello Games is one of the hardest-working developers in the gaming business, and at this point, there’s just no doubting it. Pulling the space sim out of the depths of post-launch hell takes some serious effort — CD Projekt Red can vouch for that — so looking at the title years later as the dev brings 8K support to it and more seems highly gratifying.
Taking to X, Hello Games founder Sean Murray briefly enlisted some of the major changes players can expect from the game following its PS5 Pro upgrade. Breathtaking visuals and a higher frame rate aside, No Man’s Sky has also been upgraded on the PSVR 2, and take it from me, there’s quite nothing like this one out there on that platform already.
The PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) tech is what many games are benefitting from the most right now, including Stellar Blade, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and a hundred others. It’s what allows No Man’s Sky to boast crisper visuals than ever before as well.
No Man’s Sky Is Possibly Gaming’s Biggest Redemption Story
Hello Games has made an insane comeback with No Man’s Sky following the survival title’s launch in 2016. Failing to deliver on the promises the developer made prior to its release, Hello Games took a stand for the game after it launched, meeting all expectations and then some, and never charging a penny for all the extra content they pushed out in the following years.

In other news, the title has also been treated to another feature in recent times—cross-save. Feel free to carry your progress over to another platform if you own multiple systems.
No Man’s Sky came out on August 9, 2016 for the PS4 and PC, and was ported to other platforms in the coming years. eXputer reviewed the title, rating it 3.5/5.0, with author Moiz Banoori remarking,
After all these years, No Man’s Sky is still a delight to play, especially when exploring and visiting new places with friends.”
