Path of Exile: The Best Unique Armors

Equip yourself with the right gear!

Having a good piece of armor in Path of Exile is essential for getting into a fight and living to tell the tale. Having some of the best unique armors available is also a plus, as they’re a straight-up improvement over anything else out there. These uniques may cost a pretty Divine Orb or two, but they’re well worth it.

Key Takeaways
  • Having good armor is crucial for surviving the many battles and challenges in Path of Exile.
  • For the right gear and build, players should consider the appropriate body armor, boots, gloves, helmets, quivers, shields, and more.
  • The best equipment in each category either has ridiculous stats, high upgrade potential via modifiers, or compatibility with other powerful items and builds.
  • Players can get most of these items in the late-game phase of Path of Exile.

Best Body Armor: Tabula Rasa And Loreweave

The Tabula Rasa is arguably the plainest-looking body armor in the game, but don’t let that fool you, as it’s actually one of, if not the best, body armors in the game. It has six white slots that can slot any gem, and it can be modified however you’d like, meaning it can remain a viable item throughout your entire playthrough.

Alternatively, Loreweave is the body armor that does it all. It has 6 sockets, increases all your attributes, increases your health and mana, increases item drop rarity, and increases your maximum resistance cap. The downside to it is that it’s exceptionally rare, and if you want to acquire it, you’ll likely have to buy Poe currency and get it off the market whenever it gets posted.

Best Shield: The Squire And Aegis Aurora

The Squire is a shield that sounds less impressive than it actually is. This unique shield has 3 white slots that can slot in any gems you want, while also increasing the quality of them in the process. In addition, if you socket support gems into it, those will support the ones in your main-hand weapon. And if that wasn’t enough, it also increases your armor and evasion stats.

For a safer approach, Aegis Aurora is the textbook definition of a shield. It massively increases your armor and energy shield, adds to your elemental resistances, gives a 6% chance to block, and recovers your energy shield by 2% of your max armor each time you block. In addition, it also increases your elemental damage with skills. All in all, it’s a great shield to have.

Best Boots: Garukhan’s Flight And Death’s Door

Garukhan’s Flight is the best pair of boots in the game for survivability. Granted, they work best with Dexterity characters, but they’re great even if worn on a non-dexterous one, too. They increase your Dexterity, massively boost your evasion rating, increase your movement speed, make you immune to ground DoT effects, and heal you while moving.

For a majority of melee builds, though, Death’s Door is the ideal pair of boots. They increase your armor and energy shield by a great margin, increase your movement speed by 25%, increase the amount of endurance charges you can have, increase your resistance, and make it so that you’re immune to bleeding.

Best Belts: Tides Of Time And Perseverance

The Tides of Time is undeniably the best belt in the game, but it’s also one of the hardest to acquire as it only drops from the Uber Shaper. It increases the efficiency of your life and mana flasks by 100% and the general efficiency of other flasks by 25%. All flasks also gain 1-3 charges every 3 seconds automatically.

While not as good as the previous belt, the Perseverance is a close second. It increases your armor and evasion, increases your maximum life, adds cold resistance, and increases your attack damage based on the difference between your armor and evasion. You also fortify when stunned and gain Onslaught.

Best Gloves: Admiral’s Arrogance And Gravebind

Like Death’s Door, the Admiral’s Arrogance gloves are some of the best unique armor pieces in PoE on account of how universal they are. They offer increased attack speed and armor, they increase the level of your melee skill gems, and they have a small chance of giving you maximum rage stacks with each hit, which is an amazing modification to have.

Late-game mapping becomes a lot easier once you acquire a pair of Gravebinds, though. These unique gloves are amazing because they increase your armor and evasion stats, increase your chaos resistance, and give you a fixed amount of health back with each enemy kill. Oh, and they make it so that each enemy killed counts as a kill for you, which only makes the previous modifier even better.

Best Amulets: Leadership’s Price And Uul-Netol’s Vow

Leadership’s Price increases all of your attributes as well as all resistances. It also makes you immune to ignites, chills, freezes, and shocks. Interestingly, if your two highest attributes are equal, you’ll also gain Scorching Conflux, Brittle Conflux, and Sapping Conflux.

Compared to the Price, though, Uul-Netol’s Vow is a double-edged sword as it can either be a tremendous item or an absolute piece of junk. If you get lucky with the roll, you can gain an amulet that has a socket that substantially increases all of your resistances. If you’re unlucky, you gain an amulet that has a socket and makes you all around worse at taking damage.

Best Helmets: Indigon And Maw Of Mischief

The Indigon is a very potent helm when paired with the right build. It benefits high-mana and hex builds the most, as that’s what it was designed for. It also increases your energy shield and mana pool, heals your HP when you pop a mana flask, and increases your spell damage (and mana consumption) with each subsequent spell.

Maw of Mischief, on the other hand, is a rather imposing helmet, and its modifiers are just as impressive. As a baseline, it increases the amount of damage your minions do, and it makes them explode after a few seconds. Additionally, it increases your maximum life and makes minion spells cheaper, making it the ideal helm for Necromancer builds.

Best Rings: Triumvirate Authority And Polaric Devastation

Triumvirate Authority is a high-risk, high-reward type of ring. As its baseline, it offers a single socket and +2 to socketed Vaal gems. It also has 4 random modifiers that increase the efficiency of your Vaal skills. If you get lucky with the roll, you’ll have a ring with amazing modifiers; if not, at least you’ll have the +2 modifier and some mediocre increases.

On the other hand, the Polaric Devastation is similar to the Dyadus axe in that it offers a distinctive effect depending on which slot you equip it in. If you equip it in the left slot, it covers enemies in ash, whereas in the right slot, it covers enemies in frost. It also increases your elemental damage, global crit strike modifier, fire and cold resistances, and the duration of ailments on enemies.

Best Quivers: Maloney’s Mechanism And Asphyxia’s Wrath

Maloney’s Mechanism is a unique quiver that has one of the more interesting item effects. Its unique modifier auto-casts the bow skills you’ve socketed into the quiver whenever you do an auto-attack. It also increases your attack speed and maximum life, giving a 5% chance to blind enemies with each hit.

If you plan on running a ranged cold-focused build, then having Asphyxia’s Wrath is essential. Even if you aren’t, it’s still a tremendous quiver to have as it increases your projective speed, attack speed, and cold resistance, and it deals cold damage to enemies while also giving a 7-10% chance to freeze them with each hit. On top of all that, it even transfers hexes to nearby enemies and gives you a Level 5 Frostbite skill.

Conclusion

That wraps up my guide on the best unique armors to get in Path of Exile. With this gear, you’ll definitely be ready to take on the game’s toughest challenges and come out on top. Whether you’re just exploring the world for fun or actively grinding for the optimal bodywear, having these items equipped or ready in your inventory is any hardcore PoE player’s dream.
