Xbox Planning ‘Platinum Trophy’ Equivalent, Says CEO Asha Sharma

The Xbox Platinum Trophy equivalent is planned for later in 2026, as Microsoft also tests more features through the Xbox Insider program.

Story Highlights

  • Xbox is developing a new achievement for players who complete every required achievement in a game.
  • CEO Asha Sharma says the Platinum Trophy-style feature is planned for later in 2026.
  • Microsoft is also using the Xbox Insider program to test other console features ahead of a wider rollout.

Xbox players may finally get a proper reward for earning every achievement in a game. CEO Asha Sharma has confirmed that Microsoft is working on its own equivalent to PlayStation’s Platinum Trophy, with the feature expected to arrive later this year.

Xbox’s Platinum-Style Achievement Is Coming This Year

Sharma shared the update in a post on X, confirming that Xbox is developing a completion-based achievement. While she did not reveal its official name, design, or exact release date, the idea is straightforward: players would receive a distinct reward after completing a game’s full achievement list.

Team is working on something for later this year! – Asha Sharma in response to ‘Platinum Trophy equivalent for Xbox’ question.

PlayStation has offered Platinum Trophies since the PS3 era, giving completionists a clear badge for earning every standard Trophy in a game. Xbox, meanwhile, tracks individual achievements and a player’s overall Gamerscore but does not currently provide a universal equivalent for fully completing a title.

A game showing 1,000 out of 1,000 Gamerscore is satisfying, but it lacks the instantly recognizable reward attached to a Platinum Trophy.

More Console Features Are Entering Xbox Insider Testing

The completion reward is not the only Xbox feature currently in development. Microsoft has also published an Xbox Insider console features update, outlining additional functionality being prepared through the Insider program.

These features include:

  • Voice chat in game captures
  • New ways to view achievements
  • More control over cloud saves
  • More games on wishlist

These features will be tested with select Xbox Insiders before becoming broadly available, allowing Microsoft to collect feedback and address issues during the preview period.

Overall, we can expect a Platinum Trophy equivalent later this year in addition to the features highlighted above.
