The Sonic series has dominated the aged SEGA Genesis and handheld consoles; even now, the Sonic franchise continues to expand into blockbuster movies and newer titles. The community surrounding the Sonic The Hedgehog series is still going finding news fanciers, with Sonic games dominating all popular consoles and devices. However, the love for classical titles still abides in the fans. Sonic Origins is being developed to satiate that carving. The Sonic Origins is a remastered twist on the original title that has dominated the platform genre.
There have been a lot of leaks and speculations surrounding the alluring title, with the game being rated a while ago in South Korea. The leaks have unearthed the Sonic Origins release date, alongside a bundle of details and artwork surrounding the much-delayed remasters of some of the best platform games ever made. If the PSN leak is accurate, then the Sonic remastered collection is arriving this summer on June 22 – and will likely get a re-reveal very soon. The leak appeared on the Australia and New Zealand PSN Stores as first cited by famiboards.
Sonic Origins will blend Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD into a collection. The leak has cleared the fog surrounding the anticipated remaster. The website’s registered, the title’s rating, and a leak of the PSN page have verified multiple details about the remaster – including the release date.
Moreover, Sonic Origins will include “new areas to explore, additional animations, and a brand new Anniversary mode,” which incorporates “unlimited lives and revamped fullscreen resolution.” The leak also cites added “content, challenges, and Special Stages” to unlock and explore and includes new animated opening and closing cutscenes for each game.
For fanciers of physical media, it looks like Sonic Origins will also come with a full boxed release. The PSN listing hails that owners of a PS4 disc can upgrade to the PS5 version of the game, deeply indicating that a Switch boxed release will release alongside.
It would be an intelligent move for SEGA to officially reveal details of Sonic Origins while the hype for the second Sonic movie is still rocketing the promotion, so expect official details soon. What are your thoughts about this leak? Let us know in the comments below.
