Cyberpunk 2077: Is There A Flashlight? [Answered]

The easiest way to get a flashlight is to install a mod but there are other alternatives.

In Cyberpunk 2077, I noticed that various locations have limited access to light, which massively affects vision. However, Cyberpunk still has no flashlight, which is a major problem for me and other players, especially when exploring the underground. A Cyberpunk 2077 Flashlight Mod, which can be toggled on and off with a key, is available to overcome this obstacle.

Key Takeaways
  • Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a flashlight to light up dark areas while exploring, even though there should have been one.
  • However, there are two alternatives, which are the following:
    1. Tweaking the game settings to lighten up the dark areas.
    2. Installing a mod called Simple Flashlight.
  • The best option is to install the Cyberpunk 2077 flashlight mod, which comes with a flashlight that can be toggled on and off through a press of a key you choose.

Important: No, there is no flashlight in Cyberpunk 2077; however, other alternatives exist.

In a game where you play as a cyborg or as an enhanced human who lives in a futuristic world, the developers did not think of adding some sort of portable light source. Thus, there should have been different ways or alternatives to get a flashlight.

However, I have experimented a lot and have found two ways that can provide better lighting in Cyberpunk 2077:

Tweaking With The Game Settings

So, the first thing I tried was to change in-game settings while changing the monitor’s color. I increased the gamma, which brightened all dark colors. This will ultimately change black into grey, which might make things look ugly or unpleasing. Furthermore, you can also try to mess with the brightness to get a better result.

Installing The Simple Flashlight Mod

The second way I recommend you to brighten up your game is to install a flashlight mod for Cyberpunk 2077. You can use a flashlight in Cyberpunk 2077 by installing a mod named Simple Flashlight. Installing this mod enables me to use a flashlight, which can be toggled on and off through a key press. Players can choose the keyboard’s hotkey, which turns the flashlight on and off.

Now, these are the steps I followed in order to install the simple flashlight mod:

  1. Download and Install CET (Cyber Engine Tweaks).
  2. Download Native Settings UI.
  3. Download the Simple Flashlight Mod.
  4. Lastly, Extract the downloaded folder into the folder containing the Cyberpunk 2077 game.

Furthermore, setting the hotkey is pretty simple, and you can do this in the CETs binding menu. Here, you can choose the exact key from your keyboard, which will toggle the flashlight on and off.
