Our Cyberpunk 2077 Monowire Location guide will help you reach the location of the legendary Monowire. Not only that, but you can also reach that location at the very beginning of the game. We will also discuss where you can buy the Monowire, and how much it will cost you. Before we dive into all that, let’s look at the Monowire as a melee weapon, and what makes it such a force to reckon with. In my opinion, it’s the best Legendary Cyberware alongside the Mantis Blades.

Why Monowire Is The Best Cyberware?

Hands-down Monowire is the most damaging melee weapon in Cyberpunk 2077 and not to mention the unique looks and combat style. At its core, it is just a whip that can rapidly attack three times in a second. However, unlike most weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, such as guns, the Monowire is relatively easy to handle. It is because you don’t have to aim for the head or make any special move to get the critical damage.

All you need to do is attack with a light or heavy attack. When using Monowire, it has a cool feeling to it, almost like a whip form of Lightsaber. It will cut and burn through enemies, beheading and throwing pieces of flesh everywhere. All in all, it is satisfying to look at Monowire in action, and even more satisfying is to use it yourself. 

Monowire, Mantis Blades, and Gorilla Arms are the three most powerful melee weapons in Cyberpunk 2077. So, let’s dive into how you can get Monowire in Cyberpunk 2077.

Unique Effect

The Monowire charges when you are outside combat and uses all that charged energy as bonus damage when you are in combat. When you execute the light attack, it uses up to 20% of the charge, meaning it will last for five hits. On the other hand, a heavy attack uses 100% of the charge stored and deals massive damage in a single hit.

This unique effect is not a creative way to show off the cool feeling that radiates while equipping Monowire in Cyberpunk 2077. The best way to utilize this melee weapon’s charged effect is to change weapons once the charge is finished. Stick to the end of this post to learn two useful tips for the Monowire. 

Cyberpunk 2077: Legendary Monowire Location

The location of the Legendary Monowire in Cyberpunk 2077 (for versions below 1.1) is inside a garage near a Medpoint located in Kabuki, Watson District, Northern Night City. We have attached a map overview image of the location for you to see. 

Monowire is not part of any main or side quest in Cyberpunk 2077. So, the only way to get this amazing piece of tech is to go to the locations where it can be found or buy it from shops.

It is also worth noting that the Monowire can be found in three different rarities Blue (rare), Purple (epic), and Gold (legendary). This guide only contains the location of the Legendary Monowire, which is the best amongst all three rarity tiers of the melee weapon.

Monowire Location Walkthrough

Below are the steps you need to take to reach Legendary Monowire’s Location in Cyberpunk 2077.

First Step: If you can’t find the Medpoint, then look for the crossroad, where you will see buildings with signs saying “karaoke” and “Hotel“. Just past these buildings, you will see the “Pharmaceuticals” sign at the very end. This is the midpoint that was marked on the map’s image. Then, keep going straight till you reach the area of that Medpoint.

Second Step: Once you reach the pharmacy, you are in the right area for the legendary Monowire’s location in Cyberpunk 2077. Now head towards the left side from the midpoint, and here you will see a big locked garage door. Besides the garage door, you will see a painting saying “Suspension Technologies” along with an industrial garbage bin, as shown in the image below.

Third Step: Go around the corner from the painting on the wall, and you will see a big garbage door right in front of you. Once you are there, you will find a broken car in front of a garage door. Next, interact with the garage door and open it.

Final Step: Inside the garage, you will see some tires, a generator, a crate, and a bunch of other things. Go to where the tires are, and you will see a loot box beside the tires on the right. Inside this loot box, you will find the legendary Monowire along with a few thousand Eurodollars. So, loot the valuables and install the necessary cyberware to use the Legendary Monorire.

How To Install Monowire

Once you get the Monowire from its location, as mentioned above, you will still need to install it. Because by default, you can not just equip it and start using it on thugs. You will need the required cyberware installed on your body before you could unleash the wrath of Monowire.

To do that, simply go to any Ripperdoc in Night City. You can find one almost anywhere in the game’s big regions. However, we recommend going to one directly South of where you found the Monowire. Here is a Ripperdoc’s location image we have marked on the map.

Once you reach the Ripperdoc, have a chat with him and click on the Arms option. There, under the Possible Replacement option, your will find a brand new option for the Legendary Monowire you just found. Just click on it, and you are good to go.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After update 1.1 or above of Cyberpunk 2077, you can’t get the legendary Monowire from the location given above. The only method left to get the legendary Monowire is buying from a specific Ripperdoc, as mentioned below. Or if your game is still running on a version before update 1.1 of the game’s patch. 

How To Buy Legendary Monowire

You can buy the Monowire at almost all Riperdocs in Night city. However, most of them will sell the rare or epic version of the Monowire, not the Legendary one. Luckily, one Ripperdoc in Cyberpunk 2077 sells the legendary Monowire for 55450 Euro Dollars. 

Note: You can only buy the Legendary Monowire if your Street Cred Level is 45 or above. However, for rare and epic versions, the required Street Cred Level is 20 and 25.

Legendary Monowire Location 

The location for this Ripperdoc is towards the end of the Western side of Wellsprings in Heywood. Go upstairs from where you see the big Vent fans and head inside the first door on the right.  There you will see a lane of all sorts of different shops. You need to look for Doc Ryder shop, and that is it.

Useful Monowire Tips

After getting the Monowire from its location (or buying it) and later installing it, many people seem to be unaware that the Monowire has mod slots, which you can upgrade with different upgrades. Given below are some of the best upgrades you should slot into this cyberware melee gear.

• Monowire Battery – High-Capacity: Critic damage is increased by a certain amount when this mod is equipped. 
• Monowire – Thermal Damage: Applies thermal and burning effects, very useful on large groups of enemy
• Sensory Amplifier: This mod will increase the critic damage by an insane 30%.

The Monowire counts as a Street Brawler weapon; this basically means when you fight with it, you will be getting skill progression for the Street Brawler, and it has a few good skills like Frenzy and Rush.

• Frenzy: Defeating an enemy will increase the damage with Blunt Weapons by 100% for 10 seconds, and that is berserk.
• Rush: In its level 2, this skill allows you to regenerate 5% of your health for two seconds with every successful attack. You can execute up to three attacks per second with Monowire that will almost make you immortal.
