Rules

Whether you are playing Blackjack in Red Dead Redemption 2 for fun, money, or even for the frustrating Three Gambler Challenges, you must know how to play Blackjack.

Don’t worry; we have you covered!

Objective

Blackjack is a card-comparing game in which the player competes against the dealer, hoping to get the best hand. You do not play Blackjack against other players.

The goal is to have your dealt cards add up to either 21 or as close to it as possible. If the added cards go over 21, it’s game over.

Moves

Each game of Blackjack begins with the player being dealt two cards. There are four options available to the player: Hit, Stand, Double Down, and Split.

Hit – If you choose Hit, you get another card.

Stand – Choosing Stand ends your turn without taking a card.

Double Down – This is a move that can be performed if the player has 2 cards in hand. If they do, they can double the value of their bet and get an additional card. Players cannot use this move if they have insufficient chips to double the bet.

Split – If you are dealt with 2 cards of the same value, you can separate your cards into 2 hands and play them independently. They will have an equal value to your first bet so you’ll be playing two hands at the same time.

The player loses if they go over 21 or if the dealer has a higher hand than the player. If a split hand has an ace and a ten-value card, it does not count as a blackjack. You can Double Down on split hands.

Card Value

An ace can either count as 1 point or 11, whatever will get you closer to 21. The number depends on what will get you closer to 21 without busting, and the game automatically switches between the two values.

The King, Queen, and Joker cards all count as 10 points.

The cards 2-10 have the same value as the number on them, often referred to as the face value.

If the player’s opening hand consists of an Ace and a ten-value card, they get Blackjack and win. The only exception to this rule is if the dealer also happens to get Blackjack. If such a situation arises, the round is a push, and nobody wins. Winning this way gets you a 3:2 payout rather than the usual winnings.

Above, we have compiled all of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Blackjack Locations. Blackjack is an engaging game that players can opt to indulge themselves in. It serves as a nice break from the main game. The enjoyment of Blackjack might be subjective, but we can help by eliminating the hassle of finding a table.

Play with various strategies and figure out how to make Blackjack more fun (or bearable) for yourself. Good luck!
