There are many different NPCs that you can meet and become friends within the wonderful world of Stardew Valley, but perhaps none of them are quite as solitary as the Wizard, also known as M. Rasmodius. He does not wander around town like most other characters in the game and instead sticks to the confines of his own home.
- In Stardew Valley there are a lot of NPCs that you can interact with and build a friendship with them but out of all the NPCs the WIzard also known as M. Rasmodius is the one that has a lot of different perks and advantages that players can use.
- In this guide we are going to be discussing the different Wizard Friendship perks. The wizard’s tower can be found in the northwest part of the Cindersap Forest. Availability time of the wizard is from 6 am to 11 pm.
- Each NPC in Stardew Valley has a unique selection of items that they Love, Like, things they are neutral about, dislike and hate. The Wizard is no exception so to increase your friendship with him you better remember those.
- After performing all the tasks you will unlock unique buildings for your farm. The perks you will get are Desert Obelisk, Water Obelisk, Earth Obelisk, Island Obelisk, Gold Clock and Junimo Hut.
But getting to know the Wizard and increasing your friendship level with him has a few different benefits, such as the ability to alter your appearance and purchase unique buildings.
So this guide will show you how to increase the heart meter of this NPC, as well as how to unlock his unique items.
Stardew Valley Wizard Guide

First of all, you should know where to locate the Wizard in the game.
To the south of the player’s farm is a large outdoor area with some buildings, two different water bodies, and a bunch of trees and bushes. This is known as Cindersap Forest, and the Wizard’s Tower can be found in the northwest part of this region.
Apart from when a festival is in progress, the Wizard does not leave his tower. He is always available here from 6 AM to 11 PM.
Stardew Valley Wizard Heart Meter

The Heart Meter determines your friendship level with a particular character in the game, and each heart icon within the meter represents 250 Friendship Points. As you give more and more gifts to a character, their meter begins to change.
Every NPC in Stardew Valley has a unique selection of items that they Love, Like, are Neutral about, Dislike, and Hate.
- Loved items increase Friendship Points by +80.
- Liked items increase Friendship Points by +45.
- Neutral items increase Friendship Points by +20.
- Disliked items decrease Friendship Points by -20.
- Hated items decrease Friendship Points by -40.
The full list of the Wizard’s items can be seen below:

When you manage to raise the Wizard’s Heart Meter to at least four hearts, you gain access to the basement of his home. Here you can find The Shrine of Illusions, which lets you change your appearance, name and gender for 500g.
Stardew Valley Wizard Unique Buildings

After completing either the Community Center Bundles or the Joja Community Development Form, you can head to the Railroad to trigger a cutscene. This will start the ‘Dark Talisman’ quest, where you have to find the item of the same name and deliver it to the Wizard.
Next, speak to the NPC Krobus in the Sewers, who will then unlock the entrance to the Mutant Bug Lair. Fight your way through this brand new dungeon, and acquire the Dark Talisman item from a chest that can be found at the end.
Now go back to the Railroad area, then look for the artifact blocking the cave. This is the exact same cave you saw during the original cutscene, but now you can use the Dark Talisman to unlock the path. Inside is a teleportation rune that should take you to another new area known as the Witch’s Swamp.

You will now find your path blocked by the Henchman, who will not move out of the way unless you give him some Void Mayonnaise. Either craft some by putting a Void Egg inside your Mayonnaise Machine, or fish in the swamp for it. Now provide this item to the NPC to open the path forward.
The Witch’s Hut is now accessible, inside which you can find the Magic Ink. Deliver this to the Wizard to unlock unique buildings for your farm.
- Desert Obelisk: This warps you to the desert.
- Earth Obelisk: This warps you to the mountains.
- Island Obelisk: This warps you to Ginger Island.
- Water Obelisk: This warps you to the beach.
- Gold Clock: Junimo Spirits will harvest crops near the hut.
- Junimo Hut: Keeps fences from decaying and prevents debris from popping up on your farm.
This has been our Stardew Valley Wizard Guide. Hopefully, it will give you a clear idea on all of the unique perks offered by the Wizard.
