The Best Finishers in WWE 2K24 are always pleasing to see whether you successfully perform them without any reversals or out of the blue via a comeback to finish off an opponent. Almost every wrestler requires a certain position to activate them, whether standing face-to-face or from the top rope. While they don’t have any strategic advantage or stats, I’ve compiled a list of my favorite finishers to use in WWE 2K24.
- With over 250+ Wrestlers, a single specific character can have up to 2 different Finishers in their move-set.
- Finishers will require you to charge up a Finisher Gauge, a yellow-colored bar below your HP bar.
- Each Finisher has different positions during gameplay that must be fulfilled to execute them against opponents.
- In my experience, I personally love Phenomenal Forearm and RKO, the latter of which sparked an everlasting trend across several media.
- Author’s Note: I’ve been an avid pro wrestling fan for over 15+ years, not to mention having played WWE games from the PS2 era with several SVR titles to being up-to-date on the 2K Titles, you can rely on my expertise for the best Wrestling finishers.
My Proven Favorites And Comparison Between Them
Below is a summary of the best Finishers in WWE 2K24:
10. Asuka Lock
WRESTLER | Asuka |
POSITIONS/FEATURES | Standing Behind – Submission |
- Why I Chose This: One of the most creative submission moves of a Female wrestler, considering she has been one of my main characters to use from WWE 2K18 to 2K24 now.
In my best Wrestlers guide for WWE 2K24, I mentioned how most of Asuka’s move-set is based on submissions, and her finisher, the Asuka Lock, is also a deadly submission technique. Not only do I main her in WWE 2K24 in single-player Universe mode, but also sometimes in online matches. The Asuka Lock is based on the Bodyscissors variant of the Crossface Chickenwing hold.
9. Stunner
WRESTLER | Stone Cold Steve Austin |
POSITIONS/FEATURES | Standing Front |
- Why I Chose This: One of the most iconic Finishers in WWE, which was used commonly by Stone Cold and ended up being the most nostalgic technique ever.
In professional wrestling terms, the Stunner is essentially a quarter Facelock Jawbreaker technique. But most of us, including hardcore wrestling fans, will know it as the iconic Finisher of Stone Cold Steve Austin. The reason behind its popularity in the industry was primarily because, just like the RKO, Austin used it out of nowhere during the Attitude Era, during most of his moments and his matches.
8. Tombstone Piledriver
WRESTLER | The Undertaker |
POSITIONS/FEATURES |
|
- Why I Chose This: The Undertaker, AKA Mark Calaway, retired from professional wrestling a few years back, and being one of the most beloved stars ever, his legendary Finisher deserves to be on here.
While the Tombstone Piledriver is a modified version of the normal Piledriver, it can’t be argued how memorable it has been for wrestling fans worldwide at a young age, so much so that it would shock fans when his Wrestlemania opponents kicked out of this move. When executing this finisher, Undertaker will always have the option to transition it into a pinfall with his signature burial taunt.
7. 619 Into Frog Splash
WRESTLER | Rey Mysterio |
POSITIONS/FEATURES |
|
- Why I Chose This: Rey’s entire persona has been like a Superhero for wrestling fans who grew up with him, and the 619 is the most exciting finisher for a high-flyer Wrestler.
Though the 619 is technically a signature in WWE 2K24, I’ve collectively mentioned it with the 619 since it puts you in a spot for the actual Finisher, the Frog Splash. Rey Mysterio and his character have become such a cultural phenomenon that you can’t help but be excited whenever Rey puts his opponent in a position to dial those three special numbers.
6. Claymore
WRESTLER | Drew Mcintyre |
POSITIONS/FEATURES |
|
- Why I Chose This: The Claymore was a unique Finisher in contrast to Drew’s Future Shock DDT, which became his Finisher to use at the pinnacle of his career.
Drew Mcintyre instantly made me a believer in him when he returned to WWE, slowly gaining fan-favorite and main event status, enough to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion in the Covid era. But the move that made that dream possible was the Claymore, a powerful single-leg dropkick, which can be initiated either from the Corner with Drew counting it down or by simply running or rope rebounding your target.
5. Phenomenal Forearm
WRESTLER | AJ Styles |
POSITIONS/FEATURES | Springboard vs. Standing Opponent |
- Why I Chose This: AJ Styles made a huge impact with his debut in WWE in 2016, and the Phenomenal Forearm always looked more amazing to me than the Styles Clash.
Aside from the fact that the Styles Clash caused a few injuries and seemed dangerous from Creative, I prefer the Phenomenal Forearm over it because the way AJ Styles leaps over the top rope to hit it on his opponents is always a highlight-reel-worthy moment.
4. Cross Rhodes
WRESTLER | Cody Rhodes |
POSITIONS/FEATURES |
|
- Why I Chose This: Cody Rhodes instantly became my favorite Wrestler during his AEW run, and his Cross Rhodes is easily one of the coolest finishers, in my opinion.
I’ll be slightly biased here, even though I adore Cody. However, the execution of the finisher looks unique with the inverted Facelock into a Rolling Cutter; I don’t like how it doesn’t have that much of an impact. That might be why I prefer his new Super Finisher in WWE 2K24, Cross Rhodes Trinity, where Cody hits three of these Finishers in a row if you have three Finisher gauges charged.
3. Spear
WRESTLER | Roman Reigns |
POSITIONS/FEATURES |
|
- Why I Chose This: The Spear, much like a few others on this list, is a Finisher that every Wrestling fan is familiar whether used by Edge or the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.
The Spear maneuver in Professional Wrestling has an ancient history amongst various wrestlers, as some outright use it as an ordinary move while some, like Edge, Goldberg, and Roman Reigns, have made it a unique Finisher in their arsenal.
It’s easily my most pleasing finisher to experience due to how impactful it hits the opponent, especially from the corner or in other unorthodox positions.
2. Attitude Adjustment
WRESTLER | John Cena |
POSITIONS/FEATURES |
|
- Why I Chose This: Similar to Rey Mysterio, John Cena, and his Attitude Adjustment Finisher became synonymously iconic, one that carried the heart and soul of WWE and still does after all these years.
Mimicking Cena’s Attitude Adjustment on your siblings was mandatory if you were a WWE fan growing up in the 2000s era. However, not only are there multiple versions of John Cena present in WWE 2K24, but there’s also a Super variant of this Finisher where Cena will execute two AAs in a row on his opponent.
It honestly reminded me of Cena and Styles’s epic match at the 2017 Royal Rumble, where he performed two Attitude Adjustments back-to-back to win the match and the Championship.
1. RKO
WRESTLER | Randy Orton |
POSITIONS/FEATURES |
|
- Why I Chose This: The RKO is easily the most influential and impactful Wrestling Finisher, and it sparked tons of trends everywhere, including memes and other pop-culture references.
Randy Orton is another popular Wrestler who became extremely engaging with fans not just because of his cold and cunning personality but also because of his famous Finisher. The RKO became a cultural icon because Randy could just about hit it right out of nowhere and anywhere, and his opponents overselling its impact was the icing on the cake during a few of the memorable RKOs in his career.
Honorable Mentions
Below are a few alternative picks that I considered for the list of the best Finishers in WWE 2K24:
- Riptide (Rhea Ripley): One of the most dominating female wrestlers and athletes in WWE uses a powerful slam that is both impressive and awe-inspiring.
- Rock Bottom (The Rock): While I strongly adore the People’s Elbow, the Rock Bottom has also been a trademark of Dwayne Johnson, even using it in some of his Hollywood Blockbuster movies.
- Curb Stomp (Seth Rollins): The Curb Stomp face plant to the mat was considered a lethal move at once, but I’m glad to see Seth started using it again after those restrictions.
My Opinion On The Best Finishers
If you ask me, most of the Finishers in WWE Games are based on your personal preferences and which Wrestler you like using the most in your matches. I’m just happy to see that with the WWE 2K24 Create a Move-set aspect; I can freely add finishers to my custom character’s kit.
