A Plague Tale Devs Tease New Project As Sequel Clocks 3 Million Players

It is likely to be the next Plague Tale entry, as hinted in job listings.

Story Highlights

  • A Plague Tale: Requiem devs recently announced on Twitter that the game has climbed up to 3 million players.
  • The Dev Asobo Studio also confirmed that it is working on “another exciting project.” Fans think it’s the next Plague Tale title.
  • Prior job listings and sightings on devs’ LinkedIn have suggested that the third entry is already in development.

A Plague Tale: Requiem was among the best entries to release last year but was overshadowed by some of the other giants. However, it has not stopped the game from reaching lofty milestones. The publisher Focus Entertainment has recently unveiled on Twitter that it has finally surpassed three million players. The team has thanked fans for propelling the entry to such a high spot as they commemorate the moment.

Focus Entertainment has also confirmed that it is teaming up with A Plague Tale developers for “another exciting project.” Many fans have alleged that the team is already brewing the third entry in the series. Plenty of evidence also alludes to the same path. A job listing for the Senior Game Designer role has asked the employee to have played the last two titles in the series.

Similarly, job listings by the studio that popped up in July this year also hinted toward a third Plague Tale game. One of the ads wanted to “strengthen the team” behind A Plague Tale: Requiem for a project that utilizes the highly popular IP. The ads by the studio hinted towards multiple projects, but not many details are known.

As reported in April, the LinkedIn profile of the project’s Technical Director, Olivier Goguel, mentioned that he was working on an AAA title. It could have been in development since 2021, so there is a possibility this is another in-development title.
