A Plague Tale: Requiem Crosses 1 Million Players In Less Than A Month

The sequel to the critically acclaimed survival horror is already doing splendidly.

Focus Entertainment’s A Plague Tale: Requiem was released for all major platforms on October 17, 2022, which is even less than a month from now. However, that hasn’t stopped the well-anticipated action-adventure survival horror at all from garnering more than 1 million players in total in such a short span of time.

The publisher of the title has posted online in a celebratory post on their official Twitter handle, thereby making the news official. Revelry is in order as everyone who worked on the game enjoys this commendable milestone so early on into the game’s release.

The Rundown:

  • A Plague Tale: Innocence is a 2022 action-adventure survival horror game with a keen emphasis on stealth mechanics. Focus Entertainment’s front-running IP has managed to exceed all expectations by crossing the 1-million player mark in less than a month after being released.
  • The publisher of the game — Focus Entertainment — has announced the news on Twitter while thanking the players for their continued support.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is available to purchase and play on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game acts as a direct successor to the 2019-released A Plague Tale: Innocence, thereby continuing the story of protagonists Amicia and her brother Hugo de Rune.

The developer of A Plague Tale: Requiem—Asobo Studio—has replied to the thread by Focus Entertainment, saying, “That’s a lot of people…” To this, the publisher gets back and replies with the following in a humorous albeit true tone.

While the conversation flows, some commenters seem to share their two cents on the matter at hand. Asobo Studio has continued to deliver all these years, formulating a standard for the A Plague Tale series profoundly.

Many seem to believe that Asobo should be acquired by Microsoft already, so the studio can receive the funding it deserves to dish out similar masterpieces.

Earlier this week, we reported that A Plague Tale: Requiem is compatible with DualSense’s various haptic feedback features. If you’ve got one lying around, therefore, waste no moment in hooking it to your PC and enjoying the survival horror from a completely novel perspective.

Do let us know whether you’re a fellow A Plague Tale: Requiem enjoyer down in the comments section. In the meantime, you’ll find us taking on an army of rats with Hugo’s surreal superpowers and distracting tons of guards just as well.
