  • Among Us’ update v2023.2.28 is out now and marks the return of the Horse Mode for the April Fool’s weekend.
  • Many bug fixes and new cosmetic items are also a part of this patch which is available on all platforms.

A new patch for Among Us has come out on all platforms and has brought horses and several bug fixes with it. Since the days of its peak popularity during the pandemic, Among Us has changed a lot. Developer Innersloth has released dozens of updates to add new modes and keep the game fresh. Now, It has launched update v2023.2.28 for the online multiplayer game, and the release notes give us an in-depth look at all the changes.

This new update will bring brand-new cosmetics like hats, nameplates, and visors to Among Us. Furthermore, they’ll only cost beans and will be cheaper in value as an impostor sabotaged the pricing. The patch notes contain even more good news for fans as an improved Horse Mode is returning for April Fool’s this year. Innersloth introduced this event last year as a weekend where everyone turns into a horse.

A new Horse Wrangling mode will be a part of this year’s event and will turn Hide n Seek into a “horse-y surprise,” per the patch notes. Developers have a lot more planned for this Horse Mode, which will start on March 31 and last until April 2. Moving on, players will no longer get stuck on the black screen in Hide n Seek mode if the Seeker leaves during the reveal.

Every player will instead see a reveal screen, and the game will end with “Impostor Disconnected” if a new seeker isn’t chosen. A bug making the arrows get stuck on a screen after a comms sabotage has been rectified in this patch. Moreover, you will no longer see lobbies mixed with assets from The Skeld in Among Us. From now on, the impostor won’t be able to kill players while the vent animation is ongoing.

This fix only applies to the Hide n Seek mode, and the animation still might play due to latency. Furthermore, you can now use ‘click to kill’ as an impostor when Ghosts are roaming directly over another player’s Crewmate. In the Airship, the Impostor or Seeker can no longer clip into the wall when trying to kill a Crewmate. Announcement links for Among Us will open correctly in the Nintendo Switch browser from now on.

In addition, player skins will now load onto the Crewmates correctly when they spawn in the lobby. Players you have blocked in your Friends list will also show in a proper manner after this update. According to the patch notes, winning or losing a game in Practice will completely reset the game now. Moving on, Innersloth has also informed us of the bugs we might face after this update.

On Android, players may encounter a black screen when playing in local mode after the host creates a new lobby. In addition, Star redemption could face a delay if the purchasing process goes through interruptions. These were all of the updates in patch v2023.3.28, and you can download the new release right now.
