As Dusk Falls Has Been Rated By ESRB

Xbox announced As Dusk Falls a long time ago. The first announcement trailer was released in July 2020, nearly two years ago. News has been slow about the INTERIOR/NIGHT original. We haven’t heard much about the interactive drama from Xbox. But, a recent rating by ESRB has finally given us new information about the game.

ESRB has just rated the game for Mature 17+ audiences. The rating board has deemed the game fit for only older players. This rating is due to many reasons. The game features a lot of blood, strong language, and the use of alcohol/drugs. So, the rating is pretty fair considering these aspects o the game. 

A summary also provides some details about As Dusk Falls. The player follows characters Vince Walker and Jay Holt in the game. The setting is 1990s Arizona, and we see the family stories of these two characters. 

The players affect the outcome of the story. The game will provide you with different dialogue and action choices as you play. Each action will affect the result, So the player directly influences the game. According to the summary, some of these decisions will lead to violent outcomes. These outcomes include shooting and strangling.

ESRB also lists some other inappropriate things. As Dusk Falls also has drug usage and beer. So, an alcohol warning is given to the player. Some cuss words and crass jokes are also present in the game. Hence, the game is ultimately rated for only mature audiences due to all this.  

Titles like Heavy Rain heavily inspire the game. This is no surprise seeing that studio head Caroline Marchal worked on Heavy Rain for Quantic Dream. So, the interactive drama borrows heavily from the PlayStation exclusives. 

As Dusk Falls is the debut project of INTERIOR/NIGHT. The developer will release this game only on Xbox and Windows. There is no release date for this project as of now. Players might have to wait a while for any new information. But, an ESRB rating suggests that the game isn’t very far away. Whenever it releases, we will be there to try it out.
