Elden Ring being the biggest release of 2022 also came with a set of bugs, unfortunately, but that’s nothing new in today’s industry. Some players have reported that they are unable to replicate remembrances at Mausoleums or in simpler words, some of the Mausoleums in the game are not working so we have prepared this guide to inform you of all the currently known fixes and workarounds for this bug in Elden Ring.
- The Mausoleum Not Working bug can occur for a variety of reasons, including not destroying all of the skull-like structures on the mausoleum, using the wrong mausoleum, or resting at a grace site after making the mausoleum accessible.
- There is no solid fix for the bug, but there is a workaround that may work for some players. If you are unable to interact with the mausoleum, try destroying any remaining skull-like structures.
- If you are still unable to interact with the mausoleum after destroying all of the skull-like structures, you may be using the wrong mausoleum. There are a few different types of mausoleums in Elden Ring, and each one can only replicate the remembrances of certain bosses.
- It is recommended to replicate the remembrance as soon as you make the mausoleum accessible after destroying the skull-like structures. Resting at a grace site can cause the bug to occur.
Elden Ring Mausoleum Not Working

Mausoleums are used to replicate remembrances you obtain from bosses so the two items that can be unlocked by certain remembrances can be obtained in a single playthrough without having to depend upon ng+. This mechanic is also pretty useful if you are trying to obtain your platinum trophy.
Some players have reported that the remembrances that they want to duplicate are not showing up in the mausoleums, fortunately, this is not a bug and was intentional by the developers.
If you are one of the players whose mausoleums are simply not working and you are unable to interact with them then that is indeed a bug and we will cover how to work around it as well.
How To Fix Remembrances Not Showing Up
This is a very clever trick made by the developers to confuse the players. There are actually seven Mausoleums in Elden Ring, five of them have a bell underneath them while two of them do not. This indicates that the two Mausoleums without the bell have a separate purposes.

The mausoleums with a bell beneath them can duplicate any type of remembrance whether it’s a shard bearer like Godrick, The Grafted, or a side boss like Lichdragon Fortissax. The mausoleums without a bell, however, can only duplicate the remembrances of bosses such as Maliketh The Black Blade, Horah Loux, and the Dragonlord Placidusax but not of shard bearers like Starscourge Radahn and Malenia.
So if the remembrance of a shard bearer was not showing up when you tried replicating it then the simple thing to do would be to go to another Mausoleum with a bell underneath it. Another thing to remember is that you can only use a mausoleum only once per playthrough. There are only five Mausoleums that can duplicate a shard bearer remembrance and there are seven shard bearers in Elden Ring so choose your remembrances wisely.
Mausoleum Not Working For The Player
This is a bug encountered and reported by some players and, unfortunately, it does not have a solid fix, however, it does have a workaround that might work for some players so you better hope that you are one of those players.
On some occasions, the game thinks that the player has not destroyed every skull-like structure on the Mausoleum thus it does not allow you to interact with it. With some luck, you might be able to spot some of those skulls on the front legs near the main door, simply break them to access the Mausoleum if you are lucky.

The worst case scenario is that the players tend to destroy the skull-like structures that are on the mausoleum and then make the mistake of resting at a grace site before replicating the remembrance, this results in those skull-like structures getting respawned on some occasions and that makes the mausoleum unavailable to interact with.
This bug was reported to be fixed in patch 1.04 but unfortunately, very few players are still experiencing it.
So it is better to be safe and interact with the Mausoleum as soon as you break those skull-like structures rather than losing access to it by resting at a grace site.
Wrap Up
That concludes our guide error fix guide on Mausoleums not working in the game. Despite the error being ”fixed” in patch 1.04, some players are still experiencing it so in this guide, we have written about all the available workarounds for it.
The Mausoleums that do not have a bell are located in the Mountaintop Of the Giants area and in order to access a part of it, you will need the Haligtree Medallion so consider reading our guide on how to obtain the Haligtree Medallion in Elden Ring. We hope our guide helped you.
