Despite some hiccups in the first and second entries of the trilogy, the majority of these hindrances show in the overall gameplay of the final saga as seen in a tweet by GameRiot. Players are split between whether this is good relative to the console’s prowess or whether it’s something inexcusable.

In a video showcasing the gameplay on Nintendo Switch, GameRiot shared their experience with Batman: Arkham Knight. From the start, you can see profound technical problems such as texture pop-ins and stutters. As the game transitions from the opening sequence to the Dark Knight himself, you are exposed to the constant frame rate drops that make traversal significantly more difficult than you’d otherwise expect.

Reminiscent of when Batman: Arkham Knight originally launched on PC, the Batmobile segments on the Nintendo Switch appear to be even worse than standard gameplay. Combined with the obvious trade-off in the department of graphical fidelity, the game is in a relatively unplayable state at the moment.
This has led to the start of a debate amongst the players about whether the current state of Batman: Arkham Knight is acceptable due to the hardware it’s running on or if it’s a shoddy attempt at porting the game. User expectations are always in line with the hardware they play on.
After CDPR managed to port The Witcher 3 to the Switch and Hogwarts Legacy performing well on this hardware despite its scale, people may have felt that Arkham Knight had a chance. Considering the degree to which the visuals have been downgraded and the amount of performance hiccups currently plaguing the port, it seems that we’ll be getting a reenactment of what happened with the PC version back in 2015.
Batman: Arkham Knight is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
