Infinity Ward’s next Call of Duty title is apparently looking to take all the glory home, considering how the beta did in relatively recent times and what’s rumored for the game to feature in the not-so-distant future.
One latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 rumor suggests that the well-anticipated first-person shooter is set to sport DLC for its main campaign—a first for the franchise. Moreover, the DLC won’t be arriving alone. It’s alleged to come bundled with a “classic map pack” — paid, of course — on Call of Duty’s 20th anniversary.
The individual behind this leak is TheGhostOfHope, taking to Twitter to make all these claims. As it turns out, Hope has had a credible past, earning a name for himself in the Call of Duty community for staying ahead of the game.
The Rundown:
- The next iteration in the COD series Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 could feature DLC for its campaign. This would be a first-time happening in the whole franchise.
- The leak comes from someone who’s recognized in the Call of Duty fan base as a trusted insider.
- The DLC won’t be coming alone; the expansion would come packed with a map pack featuring classic maps from the previous Call of Duty titles. The DLC would be paid.
TheGhostOfHope has poured in reports pertinent to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 since the beginning of September. Highlighting what they said in this tweet, the COD leaker has reason to believe that the developers are currently hard at work, trying to piece together a bundle of playable maps called “Greatest Hits Map Pack.”
The pack would feature venues all the way back from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare released in 2009, not to mention the inclusion of maps from other Call of Duty developers. Infinity Ward allegedly intends to drop the map pack for Modern Warfare 2’s second year of being up and running.
Therefore, this next piece of rumor seems to align with Hope’s previous leak. The involved party tweets that the campaign DLC in question would release alongside this classic map pack, so you will have to shell out some bucks to get the much-surprising add-on.

The very first Call of Duty releasing for PC and macOS managed to make landfall in 2003. That means the franchise’s 20th anniversary is coming up next year. Hope believes that both this DLC and map pack are scheduled to release on the COD’s big day. Nothing but a superb way of kicking things off—we have to say.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has just had the largest beta in franchise history and the developers are truly looking to hit a home run with this one. Apart from getting the PC trailer of the upcoming shooter leaked inadvertently, things are going smoothly for Modern Warfare 2.
That is to say, Modern Warfare 2’s beta had the privilege of gathering more than 110,000 concurrent players—an admirable feat considering the past track record of the series. The title in question is shaping up to outclass its predecessors and fans are more hyped than ever to delve into the next Call of Duty.
