The trailer features gameplay snippets and many features of the PC version.

Update: The leaks are no longer available on YouTube. Besides, the game is already out.

The upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has built up significant hype. The beta for the game managed to gather quite a high number of players, but the beta is gone now, so we won’t have to wait much longer now.

The game is set to release on October 28, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4Xbox OnePlayStation 5Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S but the game has had several leaks, such as a dataminer managed to leak the challenges for camos of some weapons.

Recently, Modern Warfare 2’s Launch trailer was also revealed, however, it seems there was a slip-up. The official Call of Duty Twitter account accidentally posted the Modern Warfare 2 PC trailer which features some gameplay snippets in addition to some of the features of the PC version.

Major Takeaways:

  • The PC trailer of Modern Warfare 2 was accidentally posted but taken down.
  • Some recorded it before it was taken down, and it gives us a better look at the PC version and its features.

Modern Warfare 2 has been the subject of several leaks ever since it was announced. Quite recently, it was leaked that classic maps from previous games in the series will return as well, albeit as a paid map pack. Recently, the launch trailer of Modern Warfare was revealed.

The trailer focuses on the general story and characters, as is characteristic of many launch trailers. The game is set to release on October 28, 2022, and those who pre-ordered the game digitally will be able to play the campaign up to a week early before others.

However, this is not the only trailer that was released. The official Call of Duty Twitter account accidentally posted the trailer of the PC version of Modern Warfare 2. It was soon taken down, but not before some managed to record it.

The trailer has snippets of gameplay, including a mission supposedly set during nighttime in the dark, and the many features of the PC version.

According to the trailer, the PC version will have 4K and Ultrawide support. This has practically become a custom in the gaming industry so there’s no surprise there. Even God of War, a console game originally, got Ultrawide support.

Modern Warfare 2 will utilize Activision’s propriety Ricochet Anti-Cheat system, which launched last year in 2021. This is also no big surprise as it was incorporated in Warzone, and will be in Warzone 2 as well. The really interesting bit is that, according to the trailer, Modern Warfare 2 will have more than 500 customization options on PC.

It will be exciting to see just how much Modern Warfare 2 will be customizable to your heart’s content, especially considering how visually impressive it already is.

Moreover, it is shown in the trailer that the game will launch with not just the campaign and multiplayer, but also the Special Ops mode, which is loved by all CoD players and a hallmark of the Modern Warfare series, and returned in 2019’s Modern Warfare as well.

The new Warzone, titled Warzone 2, will not be released alongside the game. It is currently set to release on November 16, 2022, so it will be arriving a bit later. Modern Warfare 2 will release on PC through Battle.net and Steam.

With the Activision acquisition this year, the game has been the main focus of the industry. Call of Duty has dominated the gaming conversation with doubts over its future on platforms and its sustainability. However as the debate goes on, the game continues to break all kinds of records and show its worth over and over again.

The Call of Duty franchise has loomed over the FPS genre with its popular renditions. However, various instalments over the years have seen ups and downs in recent years due to a lack of innovation in its generic formula.

As such, the burden on Modern Warfare 2 is no small one, and we hope that it releases to acclaim and returns the franchise to its past days of glory.
