Steam

Steam is a digital distribution video game software designed by Valve in the early 2000s. Initially, the software was aimed to auto-update the installed video games. Later on, a storefront was integrated into Steam, becoming the go-to platform to buy video games on PC years down the road. Valve Corporation’s Gabe Logan Newell (a.k.a Gaben) created Steam while he was working on Half-Life 2 in 2004. Besides designing Steam, Valve is also known for making famous video games such as CS:GO, DOTA, Left 4 Dead, Half-Life, Team Fortress, Portal, and Day of Defeat. Steam controls the majority of the PC video games market because of the software’s seamless interface, unbelievable timely sales, and overall integration of video games with the Microsoft Windows software.
