Baldur’s Gate 3 Hotfix 14 Fixes A Bundle Of Xbox Crashes And Bugs

Yet another hotfix that significantly improves the game.

  • Larian Studios has launched Hotfix 14 for Baldur’s Gate 3, which slashes a plethora of crashes and bugs.
  • The hotfix also brings Patch 5 to MacOS. An Xbox crash related to DLCs was patched in the new hotfix.
  • It came out on August 3 on PC, followed by a PS5 launch on September 6 and an Xbox release on December 7.

After the game-changing Patch 4 fixed over a thousand issues and the massive Patch 5 added new content, the hotfixes have been targeting the smaller yet pesky bugs that were able to escape devs before. They are playing an equally effective role in making Baldur’s Gate 3 run smoother. The new Hotfix 14 deals with a slew of remaining crashes and slashes them entirely. It also brings the glad tidings of Patch 5’s arrival on MacOS.

It fixes a crash that could potentially happen when trying to load a save game in Honour Mode. Similarly, a bug causing potential crashes to occur when reloading a save that was done during a cinematic was also mended. Many other crashes related to different in-game items and scenarios were patched, like one happening because of clothes and the like. Baldur’s Gate 3 will no longer crash when a second player joins on split-screen.

The cloud sync on Xbox was also causing crashes in the entry, but Larian Studios has allocated additional memory for the feature to prevent the issue. Another potential Xbox crash relating to DLCs was patched. A potential blocker was also fixed when the host disconnected their Xbox wireless controller while a virtual keyboard was on a screen. Another Xbox bug happening when multiple big saves would sync together was also fixed.

The Game Awards winner overshadowed all the other releases this year, surprising the whole gaming scene in the process. The alluring RPG came out with rave reviews on August 3, 2023, for PC. The PlayStation 5 version launched soon on September 6.
