Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a continuation of the 2019 reboot entry that takes place in 2022 and features various returning fan-favorite characters. The long-awaited immersive multiplayer FPS features a campaign and an online experience, evidently with massive improvements.

Modern Warfare 2, alongside Warzone 2, is being brewed in a physics-oriented IW engine and looks visually stunning thus far. All the footage and leaks have amped up the anticipations of the community, and the open beta has seen a surge of players.

The upcoming installment brings a bundle of changes to the Call of Duty gameplay across the franchise. It features an advanced AI system, water physics, swimming mechanics, and high-fidelity graphics bumped up to match modern standards.

The Beta currently sits at a disappointing ‘Mixed’ rating, with about 67% of the 13,262 reviews being positive.

The Call of Duty franchise has loomed over the FPS genre with its popular renditions. However, various installments over the years have seen ups and downs in recent years due to a lack of innovation in its generic formula.

As such, the burden on Modern Warfare 2 is no small one, and we hope that it releases to acclaim and returns the franchise to its past days of glory.
