Slime Rancher 2 Has Surpassed 300,000 Sold Copies In Just 4 Days

The director of the indie hit took to Twitter to share this amazing news with all fans of the beloved series.

It certainly puts a smile on everybody’s face when games break everybody’s expectations and leave their creators humbled. This was the case with Slime Rancher, the creature farming simulator upon its release in 2017. It was overwhelmed with praise that nobody had expected it to achieve.

The same happened to its sequel Slime Rancher 2, which finally launched on Steam in Early Access and was showered with similar acclaim and praise as the first, if not more.

Now, it seems to have surpassed the developer’s expectations as they announced that the game has managed to sell more than 300K copies in just the 4 days since its release.

Major Takeaways:

  • Slime Rancher 2 has sold more than 300K copies.
  • It managed to previously reach #1 in Steam Sales charts.
  • Currently, it sits at an Overwhelmingly Positive score with 95% of users.

Just a few days ago, the director of Slime Rancher 2 took to Twitter to announce that they had crossed the sales mark of 100K copies sold in just 6 hours of release and stated that they had a pipe dream in their head that they could sell a 100K copies in 24 hours.

As anyone can imagine, the developers must have been overwhelmed by joy as their game exceeded their wildest dreams and expectations.

Moreover, another surprise was added to the list. The game recently became a top-seller on Steam and sat at the #1 position as was tweeted by the director of the game.

Now, the developers can add another achievement under their belt. Recently, Nick Popvich, the director of the series and current CEO of the developer Monomi Park, took to Twitter to share another amazing achievement of the game. Slime Rancher 2 has now managed to sell more than 300K copies.

These are quite staggering numbers, especially for a game that was released just 4 days ago, and on Steam’s Early Access at that.

The clearly overwhelmed director further mentions that the game currently sits at a 95% positive score on Steam with more than six thousand reviews.

Moreover, he states that the developer was able to achieve all this with zero crunch times, clearly taking a jab at the infamous practice in the industry that draws a frown from everybody and plagues developers and individuals as well along with their families.

Slime Rancher 2 has certainly come far, especially for an indie game, and we can’t wait to see what more surprises lie in wait for its many fans.
