There are only a handful of titles out there that can offer you the same level of experience as Control, Remedy’s high-fi sci-fi action-adventure from 2019, that’s now going to head in a new direction. A recent earnings report, coined as Capital Markets Day 2024, from Remedy really digs into the future prospects of the Finland-based developer, uncovering some interesting statistics along the way.
As per the developer stream, it’s been confirmed that Control 2 will be an action RPG. The first game is an action-adventure single-player title but does not contain RPG elements. Remedy is looking to change that it seems as the Control IP moves forward.
High praises are sung for Remedy as players get excited to hear this news. The type of titles Remedy makes, you can easily tell that this studio is truly in it for the passion and art, and is extremely deserving of every gamer’s hard-earned dollars.
As of today, Alan Wake 2 has sold north of 1.8 million units, a bite-sized jump from its previously documented figure of 1.3 million. It’s now Remedy’s fastest-selling title to date
An Exciting Announcement For Mac Players As Well
Control Ultimate Edition, a one-for-all bundle that houses all of the expansion packs that ever came out for the game, is headed to macOS on February 12, 2025. A separate post by the devs on Bluesky goes a bit more in-depth into the forthcoming release, confirming that the game will arrive with a number of features to its name.

Personally, I do hope that Remedy leans into the horror side of Alan Wake 2 as well for the Control sequel. The developer has done a sure-fire marvelous job with that title, earning eXputer’s nod of approval in its 5/5 review of the action-adventure.

The first Control came out in 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It’s sold more than 4 million units as of today. Its sequel, on the other hand, currently has no release window.
