Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Is Rumored To Be At The Xbox Showcase

Hello again, Night City.

Story Highlights

  • Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty will allegedly be present at the Xbox Showcase. The rumor comes from a credible source in the gaming space.
  • The price tag for the DLC expansion has divided the players. Between the lack of details on the amount of content and the stigma around the original launch, this reaction is to be expected.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is reportedly going to be present at the Xbox Showcase today according to a tweet from @billbil_kun. The pre-orders for the DLC expansion to CDPR‘s futuristic first-person shooter will go live right after the announcement. In addition, a bonus in the form of a muscle car will also be given to those who pre-order the expansion.

The first teaser trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty was released last year in September. We were introduced to an official for the NUSA as V made an oath to serve the states. Johnny Silverhand commented on the oath, calling it a bad idea while we see a holographic figure as an aircraft crashes in front of us. Quite the ominous teaser but it definitely got the players into the universe once more.

The second teaser was shown to us at The Game Awards 2021. Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty introduced the character of Solomon Reed, played by none other than Idris Elba. Since then, things have been fairly silent with regard to when the expansion would release. Now, as suggested by the rumors, it will be present at the Xbox Showcase with a fairly close launch date.

Furthermore, the price tag for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty has also been leaked. The expansion will be priced at $29.99. The price tag for this DLC has proved to be rather divisive for a multitude of factors. As of now, we have little information as to how much content this package will offer. In addition, the stigma around this title is still alive and well due to past events.

Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the biggest releases of 2020 and it was also a failure at launch. An unseen amount of bugs and performance issues resulted in a game that was unplayable. Last-gen versions were disastrous with Metacritic scores in the red and player trust suffered due to the sheer scale of pre-orders and CDPR failing to deliver. It got bad enough that Sony removed the game from its digital storefront for a while.

In 2023, Cyberpunk 2077 stands tall as a fantastic gaming experience and has seen a lot of content added to it. CDPR managed to salvage the title in spectacular fashion and turned it around in what we believe is one of the more prominent recovery acts in gaming.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and last-gen consoles.
