Denuvo by Irdeto is a top-end platform for anti-piracy and game protection. They’re a giant in terms of software license issuing, and a plethora of game publishers and developers have joined hands with Denuvo. The latest in the spotlight is Steam that has over 21 million concurrent players, according to Statista.
On Irdeto’s official blog, the company has posted that they are available for “direct integration with Steamworks.” This would mean that Denuvo is willing to fully extend its line of services to one of the world’s most popular gaming platforms.
More or less, the thought of this seeing the light of day would be a literal game-changer, no pun intended. In most modern competitive games, lobbies are teeming with hacks and those tending to cheat their way to glory in the game. Titles like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Valorant, and Fortnite are all subject to illegal modifications that make gamers rage quit and stop playing.
However, there is a lackluster of Steam’s official statement regarding this news, as of late. We’ve yet to see if the platform will agree to the implementation of an anti-cheat tool and come to a mutual understanding with all the underlying policies. If that truly happens, Steam is bound to give multiplayer games a little more room to breathe.
