Compact and consequential.

  • Well of Radiance can no longer be exploited against Nezarec in Root of Nightmares.

The latest update for Destiny 2 went live earlier today and brought some essential adjustments to the game. While the patch isn’t substantial in size, the changes administered in the hotfix hold a fair degree of significance. You can find the official patch notes on Bungie‘s website outlining these improvements.

Destiny 2 Hotfix 7.0.0.7 Gameplay & UX Changes

The first of the four gameplay aspects that have been adjusted is the Trials of Osiris. The issue where wins on a seven-win Trials Passage would reward unfocusable engrams to the player has been resolved. Moving on, the neon metropolis of Neomuna had a fairly high spawn rate of elite enemies in the overworld. This impacted the Freeroam experience for a sizeable portion of the new player base.

The hotfix lowers this difficulty by adjusting the prevalence of elite enemies. In addition, it also addresses an issue that caused Cabal turrets in Ahimsa Park to respawn unusually fast. Beyond that, Destiny 2’s latest raid, Root of Nightmares, will no longer allow players to exploit Nezarec by positioning themselves in a Well of Radiance. This may have impacted some strategies used by players to clear the encounter.

Health scaling for combatants in the Season 20 Legendary Exotic mission has been reduced for two- and three-player fireteams. A similar adjustment was made to enemies in Legend- and Master-tier Nightfalls, Battlegrounds, Lost Sectors, Offensives, Hunts, and Legend/Master campaign missions. The commendation requirements for some of Destiny 2’s elite Guardian Ranks were adjusted as well.

Rank 7 will now require a score of 200 while previously requiring 460, followed by Rank 8 and 9 requiring a score of 477 and 910, respectively. Furthermore, Guardian Rank objectives requiring players to give commendations in the aforementioned ranks were removed. In addition, the number of commendations required for Hawthorne’s weekly challenge was reduced from 20 to 5.

General Adjustments In Hotfix 7.0.0.7

Several gear and progression-related issues were addressed in the update for increased stability. In PvP, the number of additional scorch stacks generated by the Flare Up artifact perk was reduced. In addition, the issue involving Target Lock not correctly deactivating on a miss if the weapon was firing above a certain RPM threshold was resolved.

Furthermore, the bug which prevented some players from obtaining Riskrunner’s catalyst was ironed out. Quicksilver Storm and Touch of Malice not receiving the damage bonus against minor enemies will no longer be a problem as well. Lastly, errors involving Ghost and Weapon mod unlocks while progressing through Guardian Ranks & new players being unable to access patrol destinations were addressed.

Destiny 2 can be an overwhelming experience for new players. However, if you can power through some of its opening hours and find your footing, it’s one of the best gaming experiences on the market if you’re into multiplayer titles. The latest expansion serves to elevate the experience contrary to popular belief.

Bungie’s looter shooter, along with its latest expansion pack, Lightfall, is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and last-gen consoles.
