Destiny 2’s Latest Hotfix Addresses Endgame Content & UI Bugs

Players feel that the hotfix doesn't list all of the changes.

Story Highlights

  • Bungie has released hotfix 7.0.5.1 for Destiny 2 which aims to address a handful of bugs in the game.
  • The last major update was rolled out on April 19 but missed a few changes. These were later outlined in a tweet.
  • Players believe that the hotfix might be missing out on other changes which may be tweeted out later on.

The latest patch for Bungie‘s flagship MMO, Destiny 2, addresses several bugs to improve the game’s overall stability. According to the patch notes, fixes range from endgame content to user interface and even the weapons department. While the hotfix isn’t as extensive as the last update, improvements to the game’s stability are always appreciated.

Some of the issues addressed in this update include an error where the raid jacket director dialog was appearing after the March 21 deadline to unlock the purchase. Along with this, the brightness and flashing factors for the Daughters of Oryx encounter in King’s Fall have also been adjusted. Furthermore, an issue where too many particle effects in specific areas on Neptune caused Destiny 2 to crash has been rectified.

Furthermore, problems such as gauntlets not being equipped when changing loadouts and Destiny 2 crashing at times when the loadout menu is opened have been resolved. In addition, the issue where making changes to a weapon in the inventory after selecting it to reshape would not automatically switch it to the item in the reshape slot.

The previous update for Destiny 2 was released on April 19 and brought substantial changes to several weapon archetypes, exotic balance adjustments, armor changes, and several additions to Vanguard Ops and Crucible. This was combined with a wide range of bug fixes to improve the game’s overall performance. It was later stated in a tweet that a part of the patch notes was missed out.

Players are speculating that a similar occurrence will happen this time around as well. While it’s certainly a possibility, we can only review the information present in the official hotfix notes. In the meantime, feel free to go over the changes and balance adjustments from last week’s update 7.0.5 in case you missed out.

Destiny 2 saw the release of its latest expansion, Lightfall, earlier this year. While the general reception has been staggeringly negative, Lightfall was the starting point for several new players in the game. The expansion may have had its issues, but it also brought good things to the table.

You can experience it for yourself on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and last-gen consoles.
