Even the most ardent fans are struggling to complete the game.

Story Highlights

  • Diablo 4 has proven to be a hard game to crack for the majority of players.
  • Nightmare Dungeons has been the hardest dungeons to beat.
  • Despite the difficulty posed by the game, the adventurers are quite happy with the game’s difficult side quests.
  • Nevertheless, Blizzard is keen on toning down the dungeon difficulty along with increasing the XP reward for completing them.

Diablo IV launched two weeks ago with a flurry of positive reviews. Its release was surrounded by much enthusiasm from the fans. The game was praised for its extensive and detailed main story. But despite all the positives surrounding the game, the majority of Diable 4 players are yet to complete the game surprisingly. This is according to Joe Shely, Diablo 4’s director and one of Blizzard’s senior developers.

First off, the significant majority of our players haven’t finished the game yet. But of the people who are watching this stream, and our dedicated players, play through content much more quickly and have been experiencing this situation with the dungeons.

Joe spoke during Diablo’s official YouTube series called Campfire Chats along with three other members of Blizzard’s Diablo development team. It was an almost two-hour-long video discussion between the group where they talked about potential changes coming to Diablo 4. In the video, he talks about the statistic at the timestamp between 48:15 – 48:44.

While Joe did not mention the specific reason why the players are struggling with completing the game, he speculated that the main reason behind this could be the dungeon quests in Diablo 4. This was reciprocated by the fans of the Diable series reacting to Joe’s comments. As most of them unanimously agreed that Diablo 4 has tons of side quests and missions. Almost all of them are interesting and unique in their own way.

And they are not easy to complete either, especially the Nightmare Dungeon, which is handing adventurers the hardest time. Even Joe later admitted to the difficulty of the Nightmare Dungeon. Even though at this point most players are not complaining about long side quests. Some are even enjoying the grueling task of completing the dungeons.

Diablo 4 is an action-adventure role-playing game developed by the American subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Blizzard Entertainment. It was released on 4th June and received overwhelmingly positive reviews, while also becoming the fastest-selling game in Blizzard’s history earning $700m in revenue so far. Diablo 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
