Good news for all Dragon Quest fans. It seems Square Enix might be teasing a coming announcement for the upcoming Dragon Quest 12. Recently the game’s logo was mysteriously changed out of nowhere with a slightly different (and brighter) logo. The logo change was found on a Japanese website by a Dragon Quest fan on Twitter.

The update can be confirmed by looking at the copyright date on the bottom right, which confirms that the copyright was only renewed this year after its 2021 announcement. For those curious about the difference between the two logos, here’s a comparison.

It is likely we can expect some news in the future related to Dragon Quest 12, and if not, then there is certainly a high chance to see something related to the game in June during the Summer Games Fest.
Dragon Quest 12 was announced back in 2021 to be confirmed in development. The game will supposedly be a much darker entry with a higher emphasis on action. Square Enix revealed a trailer for the game, which only showed the game’s brand-new logo hinting at a much darker entry in the Dragon Quest franchise. Since then, there have been almost no new developments about the game.
The last entry in the series, Dragon Quest 11, is touted as one of the best games in the Dragon Quest franchise due to its engrossing story, comfy light-hearted atmosphere, and classic turn-based combat. If you want a traditional yet relatively modern JRPG to play? Dragon Quest 11 is as good as it gets!
