Story Highlights
- Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the most decorated RPGs in the business right now, released earlier in the year.
- The game has also received a nomination for “Best RPG” alongside Shadow of the Erdtree.
- New evidence suggests that the title might be getting DLC down the road, but don’t hold your breath.
While there has been no official mention of Dragon’s Dogma 2 receiving a DLC expansion — among other additions — down the road, new evidence suggests that more content is indeed planned for the RPG. Sharing on Reddit in the r/DragonsDogma subreddit, one user was able to spot mentions of a possible multiplayer mode and DLC, uncovered from a pre-release version of the game.
If you take a look at the text at the very bottom of the following image, it translates to “Multiplayer Mode: Tower of the New Moon.” This sounds cool as heck, I’ll be honest here, but I’m not sure what it’s actually going to play out like.
There also have been some indications in the past that Capcom is cooking something up behind the curtains in terms of adding more content to Dragon’s Dogma 2. Encrypted DLC updates caught over at SteamDB have given away room for speculation, but it’s all a bit too foggy at this point.
On a side note, Capcom laid out Dragon’s Dogma 2’s foreseeable future in an interview earlier, confirming that it’s currently focusing on gameplay adjustments for the title. No mention of expansions or DLC was present.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 May As Well Get That Best RPG Award
The Game Awards just released its Game of the Year nominees yesterday, and it’s pretty strange to me that Dragon’s Dogma 2 won’t be joining the ranks of the GOTY contenders. It will, however, fight for the Best RPG award, going up against the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Shadow of the Erdtree, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and others.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 came out on March 22, 2024, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. eXputer rated it 4.5/5.0 overall in its review of the game, with author Huzaifah Durrani remarking,
Its performance may be disappointing, but don’t let that detract from the fact that Dragon’s Dogma 2 is still one of the best RPGs ever made.”
