EA CEO Dubs The Next Battlefield “One Of The Most Ambitious Projects In Our History”

The claims remain to be proven.

Story Highlights

  • The EA CEO has dubbed the next Battlefield to be “one of the most ambitious projects in our history.”
  • The overall franchise has surpassed over 25 million players over the last twelve-month period.
  • These remarks have been met with varying reactions, with most chalking them up to be PR talk.

The EA CEO, Andrew Wilson, has claimed during the latest EA earnings report that the next Battlefield will be “one of the most ambitious projects in our history.” He also dubbed its development to be one of their top priorities, as all the eyes of the community are on the future of the franchise. So, we can suspect its scope to be massive and possibly unlike anything we’ve ever seen before from EA.

The community is energized by what our teams are doing and excited for what comes next. This is not just one of our top priorities, it is also one of the most ambitious projects in our history. We have brought together the very best team, coupled with the resources and technology they need, to deliver an epic Battlefield experience,” said the CEO.

As a side note, the overall series has also surpassed over 25 million players over the last twelve-month period.

Is It Just PR Talk Once Again, Or Will We Finally See A Difference?

Most of the tired Battlefield community has largely brushed away the remarks made by the CEO. The PR talk has often resulted in nothing but disappointment in the past, as we’ve seen with how the previous title ended up. So, it’ll take a lot of convincing and actual results to finally satisfy the players. While not many details about the next FPS are unknown, past job listings have alleged that it will feature “realistic destruction elements.

All in all, only time will tell whether the polemical EA CEO is serious about his ambitions regarding the future of Battlefield. It would take a lot of good routes and hard work for the studio to whip up an entry in the series that can satisfy the unhappy populace of fans, after all.
