How Did It Overshadow Every Game?

Elden Ring overtook the spot before its release, which is a month away. This goes to show the hype that surrounds this successor of Dark Souls. It ended up garnering a massive fanbase around it. However, this was reasonably expected because of the game’s large amount of support since its announcement back in June 2019 at the E3 convention.

Elden Ring is directed by none other than Hidetaka Miyazaki and is collaborated by a famous novelist known for his fantasy genre, George R. R. Martin. He provided the lore material for this game, crafting a fictional reality that all of us can experience. It is presently sitting in the Top 5 of the Real-Time Global Top Sellers on SteamElden Ring is scheduled to be released on February 25, 2022.

It’s no shock that it will be one of the biggest Steam Releases for any Souls-like game when the giants of the fantasy and gaming genre are working on it. This game by FromSoftware may end up becoming one of the most successful action role-playing experiences.

Dying Light 2 Demoted to the Second Spot

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is an action survival roleplaying horror game developed and published by Techland. What makes the Dying Light series different from other zombie games is its unique elements like the implementation of parkour, and unique setting. Players can perform movements such as climbing ledges, sliding, and wall-running to navigate the city in a breeze. The game is heavily story-based, where every choice could alter the future of the city and how characters view the protagonist. Set out to release on February 4, 2022.

However, Dying Light 2 has undergone quite a few problems during its development. Being delayed many a time. Techland even went through a development hell phase not knowing what direction to take during development. A report on Techland published by TheGamer suggested that the project had complications due to problems at the studio, particularly regarding the “autocratic” management style of CEO Pawel Marchewka. All in all, these complications were eventually dealt with and after many delays, the future of Dying Light 2 looks good, with it coming out in a month.

Dying Light 2 occupied the top for quite a while, and it’s no shock because of the massive support it received as well. It accumulated lots of wishlists since its Steam Page has been present for several years now. The game sat on this throne since December of 2020, until it was eclipsed by Elden Ring

It’s clear by the positive review of gamers that both games are more than worthy to occupy the top two spots. Both have their reasons to deserve it. 2022 looks bright for gamers with many new big titles on the way and all of us anticipate them eagerly.
