Crytek has revealed the secret to its success with Hunt: Showdown—listening to its community and swiftly implementing feedback. Speaking to MP1st, General Manager David Fifield was asked about how the dev team has managed to attain such a consistent level of performance and keep the ship afloat for so long in an ecosystem where tons of multiplayer games have failed.
One of the key points of our success, which started in the early access days, is that we’ve consistently listened to our community, and we quickly react to their feedback.”
Getting straight to the heart of the matter, Fifield explained how the studio has consistently listened to the community ever since the days of Early Access. Keeping the lag time between the receiving and implementation of feedback on the lower end has also been a great contributor to the game’s track record.

According to David, another aspect that’s allowed the game to climb the ladder is its content updates. The “Tide” series of events has garnered praise from the community which resulted in the title breaking its concurrent users record in 2023, five years after launch due to the quality of these content additions.
Our content updates are also a big factor in our ongoing success, like the current “Tide of Corruption” event. The “Tide” series has been very well received this year with our latest event dropping a new Wild Target, Rotjaw. We’ve even managed to break our CCU records this year – five years post-launch – thanks to these content updates.”
Concluding his response to the question, David expressed his direction for the future stating, “We are looking at constantly improving our events and content drops for the future as they are so well received by our community.”
Hunt: Showdown initially launched on August 27, 2023, for PC in Early Access. It’s now available on current and last-gen platforms.
