Story Highlights
- Ken Levine, the director of Judas, has stated that the game will be shaped by your choices.
- Unlike his previous titles like BioShock, the player will affect the story in a meaningful way.
- The FPS title will be sci-fi and is coming out in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Writing in the PlayStation Blog, Judas creative director Ken Levine unveiled that the upcoming title will let you change the story in ways players haven’t experienced before. Following the game’s showcase at State of Play, Levine stated that the player will drive the game’s story, and how it unfolds is completely up to you. Hence, you can choose who to backstab and who to befriend.
With Judas, we wanted to craft an experience where these decisions and how the story unfolds is up to you. Because you, as Judas, are the driver of every event in a story with a new cast of characters to get to know — and change — in ways you haven’t experienced before in our games.”
As per the director, Judas will be set in Mayflower a spacefaring city where the inhabitants spy on one another and are willing to tear a person apart for minute offences. Everything from government to entertainment is controlled by machines in this city and the ship’s leaders try to make you a model citizen, but you rebel. In the first-person shooter, the player can choose to tear it all down or save the city of Mayflower.
But, looking at what Ken Levine is saying, this won’t be the case in Judas and your decisions will shape the game’s story. First revealed at the 2022 Game Awards, the FPS title is in development at Levine’s new studio, Ghost Story Games. Inspired by the System Shock franchise, Judas will be a sci-fi adventure and with the inclusion of game-defining choices, the anticipation for the game is at an all-time high.

Judas will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC sometime in 2025. Take-Two Interactive, the owner of Ghost Story, previously said the title could be released by March 2025 so we don’t have to wait that long.
