Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Free Title Update 5 Adds A Highly Requested Monster

Capcom has released the fifth Free Title Update for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, adding a highly-anticipated Elder Dragon to the game—Amatsu. This monster is far from being new to the Monster Hunter series, however, its presence isn’t quite prominent compared to long-time favorites such as Nergigante, Rathalos, Kushala Daora, etc.

Amatsu was first introduced in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd and has since appeared in three main titles. In addition, the Elder Dragon has made a few appearances in some spin-off games. Aside from Amatsu, the update also adds Risen Shagaru Magala. These elder dragons have found a way to overcome their affliction. By suppressing the Qurio virus, they have gained incredible strength and new abilities.

Anomaly Research Quests have also been expanded with this update of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak as they now go up to Lv. 300. New monsters have been added alongside Risen Shagaru Magala. Furthermore, Special Investigations have been introduced. When a max level quest (300) is completed, the player will be rewarded a Special Investigation (only once). Along with extreme difficulty comes the promise of luxurious rewards.

Along with brand new Elder Dragons, expanded Anomaly Research Quests, and Special Investigations, there will also be new Event Quests for interesting rewards. Moreover, new paid DLC content is arriving as part of the fifth title update for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. This content includes several new layered armor sets, layered weapon sets, stickers, Hunter voices, and much more.

With a huge wave of new content being released in the update, Capcom has also revealed a roadmap for the game. According to the schedule, the bonus update is announced for June 2023. This update will include a new monster or a new variant of an existing monster.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak along with its Free Title Update 5 is out now on Nintendo Switch and PC. The expansion is also set to arrive on consoles in April 2023.
