Monster Hunter Wilds May Only Be Limited To 30 FPS On Consoles

Perhaps a 60 FPS mode could be added before launch.

Story Highlights

  • Monster Hunter Wilds is reportedly limited to only 30 FPS on consoles, as tested by a content creator.
  • The user shared their first PS5 session experience, saying that it possibly ran at a stable 30 FPS.
  • The entry will also feature skippable cutscenes, mounting, and many more popular features.

A new finding suggests that Monster Hunter Wilds is limited to only 30 FPS on consoles. The content creator, @MH_Canta on Twitter, got their hands on a PS5 demo of the title at an event held by Capcom, allowing for their first hands-on experience. During the testing, Canta found that it only ran at a stable 30 FPS and did not reach the 60 FPS threshold. Moreover, there were no options to change to performance mode anywhere in the demo.

However, since it’s such an early version of the game, there’s still a huge possibility that it was simply lacking the option. Besides, Capcom has not officially confirmed that the Monster Hunter World sequel will only run at 30 FPS. So, it is best to stay hopeful at the moment.

All in all, it is best to take this conclusion with a pinch of salt. The content creator was not able to do thorough testing because of short timing, so some details may not be completely accurate. It is also possible that Capcom will introduce the 60 FPS performance mode into Monster Hunter Wilds before its eventual release. Speaking of launch, it is planned to come out sometime next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
